This isn't GTA: 1940's - While there is an open ended world, you play an uncorruptable police officer, apparently it is a much deeper game than GTA, and will be about solving crimes and the like, decisions will be used in the game. Looks quite amazing :D

This looks really good actually, wikipedia says that it's set in the 40's though?

It's something that doesn't intrigue me much yet.

Was there not rumours that Rockstar was filming in LA for gta5? It might have been for this instead.....

lol, though I do think the first post is presented better in Patrick's thread...so if the mods lock or merge the threads, I think it'd be good to edit the first post in Patrick's style xD

Wow, this game still exists? I thought it had long since become vapourware. There again, after Duke Nukem Forever, anything is possible.

It looks great anyhow.

It was only revealed last year, are you thinking of "Agent" Rockstar's other game? xD

Oh no, LA Noire is known to have been in development for years. But it fell off the radar for some time. There again, I didn't pay much attention to last year's E3 so I obviously missed this, lol.

I could of sworn I made a thread on this, and Chewy was like 'lol your OP is actually better, use that for the discussion thread IDC' and both threads were merged... and now it's been deleted?

So for those who've got this now, what do you think?

I've just completed Disc One, and I must admit, at first I really wasn't as amazed with the game play as much as I thought I would be, however that was mostly down to the fact of me finding it quite difficult to know where to look for clues, what questions to ask and what to respond to answers with etc. but as I've played it more, I've really got the hang of it and been really engrossed with the whole collecting clues and interrogation/interviewing. It's taken me a while to fully get the hang of how to get the most of out witnesses and the case, but I'm finally getting on with it well and it really is impressive. The first couple of cases are bit boring but they're just there really so you can get the hang of what to do. If anybody's struggling, I'd recommend going over your notes thoroughly before going to a new location, make sure you get really involved with the case and know what all the clues are and it should make the interrogation part a lot easier.

One thing I was a bit weird about though, is even if you don't get the most out of the interrogations/interviews and get a lot of the questions wrong, you'll still end up completing the case one way or another. Obviously if you get the majority of them correct and coax new information and clues out of people it makes it a lot more easier and increases your exp. and rank but I just find it's all a bit too 'easy' to progress through a case really.

The other thing that really bugged me was the huge map. Not because it's huge and detailed, I love that, but for the fact that it isn't like GTA, you can't free roam, go into shops, go to bars (not that I know of anyway) and you can't pull out a gun and kill people etc. so I just don't really see the need to have such a huge map when all you can do with it really is drive about aimlessly whilst you're supposed to be solving a case or helping out with a street crime.

It's really grown on me though and all in all, I've really enjoyed playing it, and now I've fully got the hang of it, it's going to be much more enjoyable.

I wouldn't recommend going into it thinking it's going to be a lot like GTA though just because it's Rockstar, I made that mistake at first and as a result didn't really enjoy it/get as much out of it as much as I could have. All in all I'd probably give it a solid 7 out of 10, that'll probably go up once I've played some more and discovered new things though.

If they're going to be using the same technique for the facial graphics/movements in the next GTA, it's going to be ****ing amazing.

Alot of people are buying this game after seeing rockstar on the box and expect it to be a sandbox murder game...but its not its an investigative game..it never tried to be GTA and imo its better then GTA im loving it so far i think its GOTY
