GypsyGoth is far from controversial, she's just an attention-seeking little slut.

Some of them are alright I'm sure, but most travellers I have met are robbing, thieving, nasty *****. So I tend to get pretty apathetic about support groups banging on about their 'plight'.

Met some the other day. One of the girls was like 'can I borrow a line' and I was like wtf, but she meant phone. So my dad let her if he dialed the number and all that. I did wonder if they were gonna run off or not lol

Most here live on estates, they will take up like 3 or 4 houses and still have their 'site' They still ride horse and carts in and out of the estate and that. As far as I know they all still like to fight for their clans and stuff, but piss one of them off you got like 50 family members on you.

I have a fair bit of sympathy for the most part, they're one of the most persecuted groups in history but a lot of people ignore that. Since the Jews suffered so much in the Holocaust it's thankfully no longer socially acceptable to talk about them in a derogatory manner; the same cant be said for the Roma, even with 250,000 of them being killed. They still suffer from a lot of discrimination, Sarkozy's doing it right now by deporting them back to Romania.

I do understand that there can be an issue. Because of their culture it's far harder for them to integrate into society so they do alienate themselves somewhat but I still think it's a bit unacceptable the way they are often treated and protrayed.

They can't have it both ways - on the one hand wanting society to provide the facilities others have to pay income tax and council tax for, yet not contributing anything themselves because of the lifestyle they have CHOSEN. Little wonder that some communities don't welcome them with open arms - nobody likes freeloaders.

I don't know enough about the history and such to judge. I knew a family that lived on our old street who had quite a bad reputation but that's it really.

They do pay council tax I believe, if they are living on local authority or privately owned sites

I have Romanies living not far from me. Their site is immaculate and they're really nice people. Then you've got the Irish travellers.... another matter entirely.
