Who remembers what?

Does anybody remember when tv remotes were actually attached to the TV??

Or when it was socially acceptable to have a good old fag whilst doing your shopping in the supermarket??

Niamh.

Do we have to?:bawling:

eh I don't remember being able to smoke in supermarkets but Gav remembers being able to smoke in the cinema (he's 36)

I remember being able to buy single cigarettes in the shop and a match and scratch, lol really not helping to discourage kids from smoking:joker:

Oh yeah, I used to be able to buy a fag for just 10p on the way to school! hahah

ANd I remember being able to smoke in the cinema too.. I was using my light to look for my fags in the dark and set my scarf on fire!

The most bizarre thing to me though is the fact that we used to be allowed to smoke on aeroplanes.. it's madness when you think about it!

Smoking on aeroplanes was a great laugh...............I remember going to Kos - none of the other 3 lads smoked so they got seats in the non-smoking section which was simply the row in front of me.

I mean I'm a smoker but the thought of being able to smoke in a cinema now is horrible, must have been rotten for non smokers too.

tbh I was annoyed about the smoking ban in pubs at first but I'm glad it's there now, I smoke so much less when I'm out plus my clothes don't stink of smoke either the next day!

I don't actually remember the first time we had central heating but I do remember living in a house that didn't have it!! My mum used to put the gas fire on in the morning and put a big basin of hot water in front of it for us to get washed in, then she'd heat every individual item of clothing at the fire before we put them on, cup of hot Ribena, then out to school!

I still heat all my clothes before I put them on! ahahaha

http://tekmondo.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/05/retro-telephone.jpg

It used to take forever to dial a number and I remember getting really annoyed when I'd make a mistake and have to start over again :/

my friends mom had a lock on hers to stop my friend running up the phone bill but we figured out how to tap the phone, by hitting the hang up button really quick (5 times for 5, 6 times for 6 etc.)
