Jeff Randall on SkyNews (Jeff Randal Busines Hour)
had a report about HMV bringing in people to go over there books.

As it stands they confirmed 60 UK stores will close.

But some HMV stores have Download areas
and they are still trying hard to fit all people needs.

Now LPs are level with CD's
in some stores.

They also now stock Band Clothing and own a Nightclub.

I hope they are not going the same way as woolworths did.

They have some Debts

Some Stores are making Profits.

But these people going over the books are
outsiders - This will not help backers of HMV.

I buy alot from HMV Japan
who stand alone as they are no longer part of any HMV group.

60 stores are to be closed
then they may do better

The 60 that go are the ones that are not bringing in enough cash.

It's very much on the cards unfortunately. They can't really compete with internet sites like Play.com - I can see them doing a Woollies and ending up closing their high street stores and trading only on the internet.

I really hope I'm wrong - I would really miss it on the high street - and I really feel sorry for those shop staff whose jobs are under threat.

At this Time only 60 will close.

Play.com
are having trouble.

Amazon is the King here.

"Its main competition comes from internet companies like Amazon and supermarket chains who have expanded into CD, DVD and gaming sales."

From the SkyNews Link
I just posted.

I will have you know Asda sell DVD's, Blu-Rays, CD's, + games :nono:

Would be crap if HMV went out of business was, even thought Music Zone and Virgin were better.

They have chances

Every one from the Cleaner to the Top can take another Pay Cut
and stay in work

And Prices can come down on more items
then they can beat Supermarkets and Amazon.

I think the writings on the wall for HMV sadly, soon we will only have the supermarkets with their limited ranges.

Where I am, once Virgin sold up and then that company closed their store,I hoped HMV would do really well but I have seen how downhill its gone and even up to the Christmas period where queues used to be near outside the main doors at HMV,this year getting served was really easy.

Woolworths is a miss, because lots of the things you could get at Woolworths in a small quantity, you cannot now get at the likes of ASDA,since now Woolworths has gone, they stopped stocking lots of the 'bits and pieces' Woolworths nearly always had.

OMG!

I was in there today, buying two Pendulum albums and a DVD and the staff are awesome and the store itself is top.

All these CDs everywhere, it's really amazing.

I've never been in there properly until today.

I hope it doesn't close :(
We have two.

One in our massive mall and another in the heart of the town.

The second one is the biggest :bawling: If that closes we'll be left with the boring one in the mall.

I still have my HMV voucher to spend which I got at Christmas. I usually shop online HMV. I like the store. I like to grab a bargain. Usually the bargains are online and not in store. I am sure they won't go bankrupped. There will just be less of them. Or maybe more HMV warehouses because more people are purchasing online.

I still go in the HMV store. However I am on the internet everyday so it is easily accessible online. There are usually plenty of people in HMV if I go in the store!
