Eminem has reportedly told organisers of the 2011 Brit Awards that he will not perform at the ceremony unless he is guaranteed to win in one of his nominated categories.

Tinie Tempah, Adele and Arcade Fire have been confirmed as appearing at the February 15 show, in addition to Rihanna, who was expected to duet with Eminem on their number one single 'Love The Way You Lie'.

However, M Is For Music reports that the rapper has said that he will only appear if he is confirmed to be the winner of an award in advance.

Eminem is nominated for 'Best International Solo Male Artist' and 'International Album', facing a number of hotly-tipped artists such as Kanye West, Kings of Leon, Arcade Fire and Bruce Springsteen.

In addition, the rumoured axing of the 'Lifetime Achievement' award has allegedly caused Eminem to pull out of the event.

The 2011 Brit Awards take place at London's O2 arena on February 15.

What a cock. What's the point of getting an award you didn't earn or deserve?

If he was only gonna perform with Rihanna anyway it's better. I'd be cringing all the way through the performance

He will win anyway.

But I suppose he doesn't want to travel all the way here just to perform one song, not win anything, then go back home. Would be a waste of time.

Brit Awards organisers have dismissed any suggestion that Eminem refused to perform at this year's ceremony unless he was guaranteed a victory in one of his categories.

It has been claimed that the rapper had made his appearance dependent on his winning either the 'Best International Solo Male Artist' or 'International Album' gong.

However, a spokesperson for the awards said: "The story currently stipulating that Eminem is refusing to play The Brits is complete fabrication.

"We would be honoured to have Eminem perform at The Brits but the timing of this year's show simply didn't work with his schedule."

They added: "There was never any conversation about a performance being dependant on him winning an award and to suggest otherwise is nonsense - it is simply not the way either Eminem or The Brits work."

This year's Brit Awards ceremony takes place at the O2 Arena on February 15.
