What film had the best ending ever in your opinion?
I'm going to go for The Usual Suspects for sheer shock factor, it was fantastic and un expected :
*don't watch if you haven't seen the film and are planning to!*

#1 - Watership Down - Mainly for the great narrating - " All the World will be your enemy, Prince with a thousand enemies , and when ever they catch you they will Kill you but first they must catch you "

#2 - American History X
#3 - Godfather Part II
Claymores

Any Given Sunday - but that's cos it's a film about American Football (which very few on this site care 2 hoots about).
Tony D'Amato (Al Pacino) gives a press conference at the end to announce he is leaving the Sharks to become Head Coach for a rival team.......but with one further surprise....

Titanic. Wasn't expecting the ship to sink in a million years.
Jk. Saw 1. For sheer shock value. Wasn't expecting the dude with his brains splattered across the floor to wake up.

LOL! Perhaps not the best but certainly one of the most uplifting! Hahah
I'll have to think carefully about my actual favourite.. I tend to like depressing films where the end usually involves someone dying or some other tragedy so I may not have a lot to choose from! :)

The History Boys - although it's a play...
Fargo - Frances McDormand's character settling down to bed as a pregnant woman totally innocent and oblivious as to why anyone would commit crime - it was insignificant but it just capped off one of my favourite movie characters for me.
Goodbye Lenin! - the rocket
Milk - the candlelit vigil
agree on the Usual Suspects & Se7en shouts.
Shock factor - The Departed, Gran Torino and American History X
Sheer awesomeness - Wanted.

I remember going cinema and watching Usual Suspects and when got home was raving about it to family and friends.
Then later that year I went to see Seven and towards the end when I heard deeeetectiiiiiiiiive and saw Kevin Spacey I was like "its KEYZER SOZE!!!!!" :joker:
great year that for Spacey, made his career those 2 roles

dont be daft youre entitled to love anything you like, Ill rewatch this on your recommendation thanks
the end of schindlers list was very moving, I enjoyed too the end of twin town, morbid yet moving, the end of raging bull was also touching when jake lamotta stared into his dressing room mirror, by now a bloated broken ex fighter who couldnt handle success, rants at the mirror......."although Im no olivier, I fought sugar ray, I would say, the thing aint the ring, its the play, Im much rather here myself recite than to see myself fight, so just give me a stage where this bull here can rage, now thats entertainment."
deniro represented the true flaws and insecurities of a brutal working class working class champion brought up touch and mean, surrounded by gangsters and bloodsuckers whilst balancing it all with being ripped off, having to keep his weight down below 11 stones too....deniro was so "method" and real he in the word of jake lamotta himself became so fit and so good, he rated him as a world class boxer capable of fighting elite fighters....later in the movie deniro put on 70 pounds by eating his way through parts of Italy....the physical transformation made it authentic and must have been seriously bad for his health....but thats the key with deniro , scorsese , pacino, brando and nicholson, they make everything as authentic as possible...taxi driver was the most authentic movie Ive ever seen, then again so was the absolutely magnificent deer hunter. I digress
oh great endings too, blade runner

I loved Avatar too, I don't care what anyone says
....I also think Silence of the Lambs...and the final line by Hannibal...
..also Memento had a good twist, only it wasn't a twist...
...Se7en and Sixth Sense as well...
..and there's another one with Josh Hartnett and Ben Kingsley in but I can't remember it's name....
