What was the name of the one that happened around 2003/2004? I remember I went to the cinema to watch 'The Day After Tomorrow' and came out to hear about it...

It was also the anniversary of the Apollo 1 fire this week

This is a rather poignant blog about this (http://blogs.discovermagazine.com/badastronomy/2011/01/27/apollo-1-challenger-columbia-and-those-who-sacrifice-for-the-stars/) by Dr Phil Plait

It was being shown live in classrooms all around the country as well, because the Challenger was taking the first "teacher in space". A lot of fuss was being made about the first "teacher in space". She was going to give lessons from space. So a lot of children were actually watching it blow up live in their classrooms.

Horrible tragedy. R.I.P. Apollo I, Challenger, and Columbia.
