Long sigh of utter contentment.................. that's it, flights booked for an escape to the sun and a badly needed and well deserved 10 days of pampering and being waited on.
Just got accomodation to sort out. Do I go for the normal 4star and affordable hotel or do I throw caution to the wind (and risk the wrath of the bank manager)and go for the all out luxury 5* number?
Decisions, decisions - if anyone cares to offer any suggestions on accomodation they have experienced in Portugal - I'm flying into Faro so will be looking at the Algarve region - on the beach, near to the action but not right 'in' it, and a bit upmarket rather than an 18-30 type thing.
Has anyone particulary good things to say about a specific hotel that they've been to and experienced, and that you'd recommend?
Any suggestions welcomed!

See.... I'm really drawn to that option - keep thinking along the lines of, "Ach feck it, I could get knocked down next year and pop ma clogs" but then that old bastard 'common sense' keeps kicking in. :(
Today gonna be spent checking out hotels I think!

do you work 7 days per week?
No. Not many people in full time employement tend to work 7 days a week.

I am not being rude or annoying but I just wondered why you thought your holiday was deserved. maybe you are a nurse and have been working all over Christmas and new year etc
or maybe you have your own business and work 10 hours a day 7 days a week
that kind of thing

No I agree. You aren't being annoying or rude - what you are however, is doing nothing to actually contribute to the nature of my thread and just being a pain in the arse instead, and contributing absolutely nada to the question that was posed in my OP.
I don't have to justify to you why I feel a holiday is well deserved. I answered, but I certainly don't have to justify.
Time you moved out of the Highlands I think..... there's far too much mist and clouds up there and seems your head is securely fixed fast amongst them.

Err... so what was your contribution to what the thread was about Jack? I seem to have missed it - oh... I see... you didn't actually HAVE anything worthwhile to offer.
As I said, another pish contribution to a post with no other intent than to jump on the bandwagon. Shame it seems you aren't able to think for yourself but have to resort to backing up a similarly unhelpful post in relation to what the thread was about, and the question that was posed. ;)

Everyone deserves a holiday if they can afford it. Everyone is entitled to do what they want. Oh yes.. my heart bleeds to those who are nurses and have business's but at the end of the day it's their choice to be in that occupation.

L. Trumpet - hate to break it to you, but asking advice, asking if anyone has been to any good hotels in an area, isn't showing off, it is what it is.... asking for advice and for any possible recommendations anyone may have experienced!. ;)

My contribution was in the form of acknowledging an amusing post.
Why don't you lighten up a bit and accept that I found something funny? If you'd have said something funny, I'd have laughed. But you didn't.

Your contribution was nothing to do with the advice that was being requested - or any slant on that, but more to do with finding amusement in a post that was telling someone to shut the **** up - which apart from being incredibly immature, is rude, unecessary and completely uncalled for.
If you and your Trumpet friend can't add something to the thread for the reason that it was created, all you are doing is deliberately cajoling and distrupting the thread.
Pyramid, I went to Armacao de Pera last year and it was really nice. Its a resort where the Portugese go, so its a lot cheaper to eat out and stuff because its not aimed at the foreign tourist. And the food is fantastic - amazing fish and seafood. Loads of watersports on the beach, nice bars and restaurant but with an intimate feel. Good waterpark a couple of miles away. I stayed at the Holiday Inn, which is right on the beach
