Census agencies worldwide report difficulties encouraging those in their late teens and twenties to complete their forms.
'We suspect that the Jedi response was most common in precisely this age group. The campaign may well have encouraged people to complete their forms and help us get the best possible overall response.'
So this internet campaign, aimed at interfering with TPTB and their census results on one question, (which was not compulsory), managed to assist in the return rate of census forms from the age group that this internet campaign was targeted at.
So who would like to own up to putting Jedi down as their religion on the 2001 census
