It's no shock that Karen Barber and Jason Gardiner are not the best of friends. Tonight's bust up was great and even when Jason apologised it was obvious Karen was going to forgive.

I wonder if TPTB advised Jason to make that apology.

Karen. She's a professional in the ice-skating field. He isn't and lets his gob run away. Yes, he's entertaining but he can be very rude :(

That said, the two times he's apologised he'll have been told to do so. It won't have come from him

Theyre both as bad as each other. I cant stand Jason hes an obnoxious t**t but sometimes Karen doesnt do herself any favours either.

She has a point sometimes, but she spoils it by making digs every week and going on and on about it. It just makes it look like shes b****ing like what Jason is. And sometimes it does look a bit like she does it on purpose to win the public over coz she knows everyone hates Jason. I agreed last week when she said he was offensive and that theres no need for it. He should give constructive criticism thats relevant to the show not personal digs at people. If she had said that and left it at that she would ave looked better and made him look a total mug. But now she just seems like shes being ridiculous, as is Jason.

Jason is a total idiot, he takes it too seriously, theyre not training for the olympics. Ok so theres an element to it where it should be taken seriously. The public are voting these people through after all, but its still an entertainment show. He needs to loosen up a bit. And he doesnt know as much about ice skating as he would like to think, but even so, give them constructive criticism, not personal offensive jibes because u are trying to be the next Simon Cowell. Sometimes he gives criticism and its constructive, but he still gets booed, so i guess he thinks "why bother"

At the same time, Karen can be ridiculous by getting the hump over his comments. Harping on about what a journey Johnson has had because Jason has said his routine wasnt that good. So what Karen???, its Dancing On Ice, not Greatest Life Story. As much as everyone loves what Johnson has done, we are watching Ice Skating and Jason is a judge and............Johnson wasnt the best so therefore he's going to say so

As much as I cant stand Jason and dont mind Karen, lol, I think they can both be as bad as each other, so I'm not voting for either lol

I dont understand why on a skating show there is only one judge who can actually skate.

Anyone else notice that Jason more or less comments on the same things after each performance. He seems to only notice leg lines and posteur. He hardly ever comments on anything else. Given that I dont understand why he is so important to the show. Oh I forgot ratings and controversy. Get rid of him his rhetoric is as poor as his experience and expertise in ice dancing.

This is the only thing what Jason said that I disagreed with.

I bet the producers did force Karen out of the judging panel and I bet she wanted to stay in it. Or maybe she is just happy in per position of head coach? Who knows?

I do think that Emma Bunton should just piss off and Karen deserves a place back on the seating panel.

Anyway whether you are a judge or not we are all entitled to our opinions. Jason and Robin are good judges. Hardly anyone gives a sh!t what Emma Bunton has to say.

At the end of the day hopefully Jason and Karen will agree to disagree. Robin and Emma are polite enough to give their opinion and just say "I have to agree, disagree with so and so because...." and not get too emotional or make any sly digs!!

The show is supposed to be about the Ice askaters not the judges. It is getting a lot like X Factor in that respect, which is why I stopped watching X Factor some years back now when I could see the way that show was going. Simon Cowell has a lot to answer for :nono:

However, I have always found Karen to be a bit of a drama queen, a bit insubstantial at times, who turns on the waterworks at a drop of a pin, and world class skater she may have been, but that doesn't mean she is qualified to be on that panel if her ego is so fragile to effect her re the other judges and the skaters. There again what on earth is Emma Bunton doing on that panel either? :conf: I think because of Karen's airy-fairyness, that may have been the reason she was demoted from the Ice panel. Jason can be such a pratt at times, yes, and he has an acid tongue, no doubt of that, which he does need to curb. However, that said, he does give valid critisism a lot of the time and praise when the need be. A bit like Craig on Strictly does. I like Craig, and I sort of like Jason. Plus both give the most reasonable scores for the performances for the most part, which is what I expect judges to do. The Celebs who go on these shows should by now know to expect certain critique they won't like from the judges and take most to heart and work to improve, they get paid enough for being on these shows after all, mostly to try and boost their usually flagging careers?

I think it has a long way to go before it sinks to the level the X Factor has done with it's panel.

DOI doesn't spend 5 minutes each week introducing the judges and the air time give to the panel is still very short compared to the X Factor. The bickering between Jason & Karen has been there since the first series.

The only issue I have with the DOI panel is Emma Bunton, why is she there ?

I do find some of Jason's comments funny but I can never support any Man humiliating a Woman in public, or vice versa.

Karen is a professional skater and so likely knows more about that element than Jason,quite frankly I haven't a clue why Karen still is not on the panel anyway, and what does Emma bunton know even.

However, Jason oversteps the mark most weeks with someone but has got away with insulting people, who cannot criticise him the same way, for a good while now.

I was taught to be respectful,it is pretty low for a man on a Family entertainment show which is also a competition to deliberately set out to belittle and humiliate a Woman who is also a professional the way he did, he implied she had been largely demoted on the show and I don't think,even if that was the case, that it was his right or place to say so.

jason as afterall he has got to say his opinion as a judge,alright he can over step the mark sometimes,but i prefer that to karen who used to burst into tears when having to slate contestants when she was a judge.
