why is this word filtered and wank, slut, bastard, piss, dick, slag, ***** are not?

Fair enough I can see the F and C words are a little more extreme (let's not get into that debate) but what's so offensive about a little poop?

Looks a hell of a lot more dignified than the classic italicized option.

Although **** ... after much intensive screen gazing Verdana might be the one to go for.

In fact I think it's the same fo .... it's perfect!

The reason Dick isn't banned btw is because:

1. It's a Guy's name, what would you do, besides laugh at them, if someone on here was called Dick? Say: 'Hey D*ck, What's Up?' all the time..?

2. It's a slang word for something that's part of the body just like Sh*t is a slang word for something that comes out of the body.

LOL - seriously banning though would be pointless, since they're factual terms as well.

Surely the moderators can tell the difference between swearing to express frustration with something, and swearing to insult someone. Only the latter should be against the rules.

Should be an optional swear filter just like you can switch off sigs or avatars then it's the users responsibility what gets seen in their homes

It was censored because it was appearing a little too often, and casually, in topic titles. If it gets used too often it cheapens the forum a bit.

I agree with the suggestions of an optional swear filter. If it would be possible.

Maybe when signing up members are automatically put in the 'filtered' group but they CAN change this if they like?

As far as I know an optional swear-filter isn't really possible on this forum because the censor is applied when the post is stored, not when the post is viewed, unfortunately.

Oh to give my opinion on the swear filter, I don't understand why anyone swears, I don't think it's necessary, ever. It doesn't bother me when people swear, if the swear filter was optional I would turn it off.

The UKFF wrestling forum has a UKFF Gold section where they lock and store for diplay the best threads to have come over the years. I think that would be a boss idea here and it would stop thebeast from eventually ruining said great threads nine years later.
