It's half past 1 in the morning, pitch black and the birds are chirping away outside as if it's the day time. Why aren't they sleeping?

I think birds don't tweet in the day because of noise pollution so they can hear each other better at night... or some **** like that.
There's another theory about them being mind****ed by too many lights so they bitch and moan about it til they pass out.

I like that theory.
But they chirp during the day too, usually they are quite at night, but tonight they are having some sort of disco out there.

Honestly, not many birds sing in Winter. Robins are one of the only ones that do. They're attracting mates for Spring baby birds

Well I wish they would keep it down. :bored:

Years of nerdy nature shows :/
I noticed them chirping myself this week too. I was pleased at first but give it a week and I'll want to throttle them :D

Just stuck my head out of the front door and not a cheep........ Scottish birds are fast asleep and quiet. well... minus the snores!
Won't be too long before they start going mental about 3am though, and noisy enough to wake up the dead.

I bet there's always that one fat bird who no one likes but he for some reason keeps following them around.
They're all sitting in the nest chilling, like proper freezing.
Almost dieing of the winter air.
And that fat bird is just like 'LET'S SING A SONG EH?'
'ARE YA READY BIRDS?'
And they're like '****** UP!' and then that's the one bird you'd hear chirping at 5AM. :bored:

Magpies don't annoy me too much, unless I see one. Then I have to salute it.
