Hate it, there's nothing to it it's not catchy and the lyrics are awful. It's just really bad, It sounds like a Gloria Gaynor b-side. It's pretentious and contrived and it makes me feel rather embarassed for her.

Lady Gaga unveiled her long-awaited new single Born This Way on Friday - and immediately faced a barrage of accusations she has ripped off Madonna's classic hit Express Yourself.

She finally uploaded the song on Friday - but within minutes a slew of critics and thousands of fans took to the internet to accuse her of stealing the beat, melody and subject matter from Madonna's 1989 global smash hit.

One follower writes, "Lady Gaga's song's good, but my God it sounds exactly like Madonna's Express Yourself", while another adds, "It doesn't just sound like Madonna's Express Yourself. You can literally sing the original over this one."

Because Niall and Smithy are the one's I have seen going on about it, I haven't seen Jessica mentioning it.

Not sure why you feel the need to question my post, when it had nothing to do with you in the first place, and no one said Niall isn't a "decent member" did they?

I nothing it. I've only liked two of her songs to date (and no I've not bothered to listen to her albums.) Kind of hope this knocks her down a peg or two and gets her fans to tone it down somewhat, I saw a good post by Dezzy about how she's exploiting gay rights activism to make her this champion of the people in some niche market of tolerance, when it shouldn't be a niche, it should be the norm. This song is tacky and the lyrics are embarrassing.

bloody hell, hold me back!

this song has been ecstatically overhyped up for several months and been totally leakproof. Its the first track from her equally overhyped to death new album.

Now her "fans" are screaming stupid pointless statistics about number one here, number one there, fastest this, fastest that...blahblahblah!

well DUH! of course its gonna create a sudden explosion of interest....for all the reasons Ive mentioned....IT HASN'T BEEN HEARD OR AVAILABLE before yesterday!

add that to the fact that its the slowest time of the year music sales wise and really these stats mean jacksh!t. Totally predictable, totally expected.

Quit deluding yourselves that these stats somehow prove its an amazing song because it certainly is not! Cliched, derivative, clumsy, TIRED and patronising more like.

Gay twinks rejoice...but the rest of us are just yawning.

I predicted a huge backlash and here it comes....

If you pull your head out of your ass you'll realize that you are wanting to see her fail, and you are annoyed that she hasn't. Okay, you don't like the song but that doesn't mean that it's only a success because of the hype. If somebody was just curious about hearing it, they wouldn't download it on iTunes, they would listen for free on YouTube.

Define generation. It's certainly not what ot was hyped up to be.... I mean months in advance she spun this crap out with the VMA's and the lyrics leaking thing and then you got that? I'd be pretty pissed off if I was handed that and told "there you go this is the anthem of a generation". It's nothing more than an album filler song and the "little monsters" bent over and took it..... Number 1 in every country in the world for all I care it's still rubbish and the fact everyone is so keen to defend it speaks volumes.:hugesmile:

the Gaga sheep were always gonna rush to buy it as some kind of loyalty badge. So no1 in the charts was a done deal.

but its the doubters, sceptics and fence sitters that she really needed to win over. And she has totally failed with this song.

Musically she's shot herself in the foot and just reinforced the Madonna wannabe claims. The woman is a plagiarist through and through.

Well, either way it's breaking records and selling well, I don't think she particularly cares whether or not people who aren't fans dislike it

EXPRESSING YOURSELF: Whether or not it sounds like Madonna's "Express Yourself" or "Vogue," Lady Gaga's "Born This Way" appears headed to around 500k downloads in only three days after hitting the web yesterday. Apparently, her first-day sales will not top the 651k Ke$ha's "Tik Tok" did on Christmas 2009, but it's still an impressive total, which could climb even higher with a Grammy performance tomorrow night. Stay tuned. The Interscope album itself drops May 23.

There's nothing to love or hate, It's insignificant to me. It sounds like a continuation to her other album. Comparing her to Madonna is an insult to Madonna. Madonna evolved from Album to album mama monster brought out the same sound. Madonna could rock a simple brown hair and a simple t **** and jeans and still sell. Would gaga without all the gimmicks?

Little monsters reply:bitch what the f do you know about music. She would sooooooooooo sell without all the gimmicks.

Her and Nicky minaj hype jst leaves me baffled. I just don't get it. It must be because there's not a lot of variety nowadays. If it's not black eyed peas on top it's rihanna. I guess people are craving and these two fill up the space well.

Both of them are talent musicians who both write their own, catchy songs. The Black Eyed peas haven't been on top for ages, their past two albums have been utterly atrocious and in comparison to Rated R, Rihanna's new album is pretty poor too.

I think it's ok. But it's very bad compared to other Gaga singles which I think is why most people are pissed off. Not to mention it was way too over-hyped. Popjustice said it's one of the best songs of the past 10 years or something. Er, what?
Also, the lyrics make me cringe every time I hear it :(
Let's just pray that this is one of the weaker songs on the album. :S

I hope Judas is amazing, just from the song title I have a good feeling about it. Gaga seems to very biblical lately, lots of references to God in Born This Way and then she has a new song called Judas, who was the disciple who betrayed Jesus for gold.

well aparently she had an inspired 10 minutes(that long?) in which she wrote this crap....then the rest of the album just poured out with ease. Like diarreah probably.

so don't get your hopes up if this was the inspiration
