View Full Version : Lady Gaga vs Jessie J vs Adele for #1

Although the midweeks had it was set for Lady GaGa to be number 1 this week with her new single 'Born This Way' it'll be a close battle as Jessie J's 'Price Tag' continues to sell well, and a late contender from Adele after her Brit performance has seen her single 'Someone Like You' climb up 44 places to #1 on the iTunes chart.
And with today's sales (usually the highest selling day of the week) we could see Lady GaGa denied the top spot...

I think Adele might just steal it this week then Gaga will probably get it next week when the video is out.

It's between GaGa and Adele, there was 200 copies between them yesterday, and 1000 between GaGa and Jessie J.
I think Adele will get it this week, but with the BTW video out next week GaGa will get it

I think Adele might very well get her first UK #1 this week, it's long overdue though. Plus Born This Way will probably climb to #1 next week.

Adele please
GaGa is over, and this is coming from someone who supported her for over a year before she became famous in the UK

GaGa is over
Criticism and controversy behind her new single "Born This Way" couldn't stop Lady GaGa from making a history. The "Poker Face" singer has just scored the fastest selling single in iTunes after her gay rights anthem sells more than one million copies worldwide.
iTunes reportedly didn't usually release the sales figures of any artists' singles, but the tradition was broken when it issued a statement regarding "Born This Way". The single which has ruled the digital chart in at least 23 countries hits the 1-million mark in just five days.
In the U.S. alone, "Born This Way" pulled in 448,000 downloads, according to Nielsen SoundScan just earlier this week. The number sent it to sit at the first spot of Billboard Hot 100 and become the chart's 1,000th No. 1 in its 53-year-history. The first-week sale figure is also enough to break Britney Spears' "Hold It Against Me" record (411,000).

I know she wont, but I want Jessie J to get it, love Price Tag. If it's between Gaga and Adele than hopefully Adele gets it

purely the continued hype from her first album (which i agree was great), she will slowly start to fizzle out now, unless she can out with another bad romance/just dance.

You said GaGa is over. Then you said oh she's not over she's just gonna fizzle out until she does BR 2.0 and I don't see how you can judge her current material on one song, which sounds completely different to the rest of her album

Judas = BR 2.0
That German song isn't even a song it's a remix, the only lines that'll be in the song are the ones in English

Rolling In The Deep will climb back to #4, so she'll have 2 songs in the Top 5.

I bought the Adele Brit performance  I hope she gets #1...it's actually ridiculous how many leagues above Born This Way that Adele's performance was.

As I said in the other thread I hope Adele gets it. SLY kicks the sh*t out of the other two and Jessie J's already had a number 1 while Gaga doesn't deserve it with a song that godawful.
