My brother is playing the demo...it looks epic

The first choice on the "Choose Your Experience" is Action :bored:

Everything's more grey and gritty looking. Very unimpressed by the graphics.

Running feels weird, less weight to it (and looks super goofy). Aiming too, it's way more sensitive.
Definitely feels more actiony, the combat is twice as fast as in ME2, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, and I quite like the feel of the shooting.

The scene with the kid in the vent, and then again at the end of that part... smh. It felt so forced. I really hope there isn't much of that.

I do like how the upgrades have been fleshed out more. 6 ranks instead of 4, with 3 of them giving you an option.

Though it's weird using an assault rifle as an Engineer, not sure how I feel about that. And having both drones and turrets seems overpowered. Definitely going to continue playing as an engineer though.

I don't know what to think... it feels like a cheap, plasticy version of the real Mass Effect.

Remember that it was a demo to basically show off the new combat more than anything else, comparing the combat, it looks and feels a lot better than the last one, where everything looks generic. I don't mind this one being gritty, Mass Effect 1 was all about the lens flare, Mass Effect 2 was all about the red hue and Mass Effect 3 is gritty, each on of those fits the story

ME1 - Everything is shiny because it's basically showing off the galaxy
ME2 - Everything is red, because you're taking the darker route
ME3 - Everything is gritty because its the war to save the galaxy

Samuel.

ME3 - Everything is gritty because BioWare are trying to make their game look like a military shooter in hope that it sells more :idc:

BioWare ain't the company they used to be.

Scarlett.
16-02-2012, 08:09 PM
Or because the game is about the war against the reapers? Therefore the game looks darker. And at the end of the day, so what if a little grit brings in some military shooter fans? They could do with a break from CoD.

I could easily say
Mass Effect 1 filled with Lens Flare because they're trying to look like every Michael Bay movie on market in hope that it sells more.

So apparently lots of stuff was cut out of the demo, including scenes and lots of dialouge options and also interrupts

A lot was removed for the demo

For anyone who has played the Mass Effect series, it’s rather well known that you have the ability to “romance” another character. This feature had been limited to only being able to romance characters of the opposite sex.

With a game that has such a huge focus on “choice”, it was a little strange for it not to cater to the gay community. BioWare listened to a ton of feedback and criticism and made the decision to allow gamers to romance characters of the same sex. It’s a huge step in the video game world, and BioWare deserves some credit for doing something that quite a few developers shy away from.

Here's the scene in question, there's nothing X-rated for those who may be excited about seeing pixelated sex xD

Haha xD There will be an alien choice for sure.

What is annoying is, people get pissed off about THIS, yet in Mass Effect 1, Femshep and Liara is fine. Double standards xD :joker:

Don't compare it to Mass Effect 2, expect ME3 to be its own game, ME1 was miles better than 2, but I still loved ME2 lol.

Garrus died in my Mass Effect 2 :bawling:

Me2 > me1

Scarlett.

Me2 > me1

Maybe for some people, but the sheer size of the first game was amazing, and the different weapons and armour made the game better for me :spin:

I just loaded my save game file and did not get the chance pick one these modes. Am guessing if you load a save game file its rpg mode right ? I dont want auto conversations! I want be able make game choices

Scarlett.
09-03-2012, 11:58 PM
If you have an old save, the game will play like it did in ME1 and ME2, the auto convo stuff can be toggled in options

jaybitches
10-03-2012, 12:02 AM
Aw gee cheers Chewy i was about go in a huff with Bioware if they forced me play with auto conversions

Scarlett.
10-03-2012, 12:06 AM

That's quite near the end, worth finishing Mass Effect 2 so you can import your save into ME3. ME3 is a lot better, the combat is improved massively

This indoctrination theory that's going around... Mass Effect 3 may be the GOAT video game if true.

Still yet to play it though. I might wait until we hear the inevitable DLC news.

Scarlett.

Completed it

Amazing how the last five minutes totally ****s the franchise up...I hope Bioware fix this, because, as of right now, I feel empty about the franchise

I hope that's true
The events of the ending have quite interesting implications, the bulk of the remaining galaxy is now stuck in the Sol System, I bet they will develop FTL drives, Bioware need to say "this isnt the end, ya know"

I do think I'm coming to terms with it though

Samuel.
13-03-2012, 02:24 PM
I really do believe that theory, there's a lot evidence backing it, and would explain some of the developers comments on Twitter since its release.

I'm hoping they'll expand on it with an update/DLC/whatever, instead of just going "Yep, you were indoctrinated, well done for working it out". I think it's a stroke of brilliance if the theory is true, and they give us the ending the series and the fans deserve after "indoctrinating" it's fanbase into believing the current ending is real.

It'd be great if it was a full on expansion, like the Awakening expansion they did for Dragon Age: Origins. Unlikely though.

BioWare are pulling a bigger troll than Konami did with MGS2/Raiden.

The ending has too many plot holes for the indoctrination theory not to be true

I'm definately in the indoctrinated camp now, it makes the most sense, and by picking the destroy option, you break the indoctrination and Shepard awakes, then the real ending is left upto you....or DLC

Did you download the extended cut dlc? It's free and it changes up the ending a little.

Shaun
16-04-2013, 12:47 AM
Nah, I've never downloaded anything  because I'm inbetween homes, and we use the housemate's PS3 at uni and my own at home... so I never really have the time to commit to something here, nor want to spend money on his PS there

Scarlett.
16-04-2013, 10:09 AM
Ah right :p

The endings are a lot better with the extended cut though, but they are easily viewable on Youtube anyway :)
