Interestingly I've spoken to someone at the publication that claimed c5 denied press reports at their recent press breakfast, and they standby that, he worded it to suggest that they denied it was coming back though so perhaps they were simply denying the "done deal" element of reports and that's what said publication meant,

It's not really Channel 5's fault.
They aren't the ones ******ing you all about, it's the press going on about it and then falling silent every week.
Channel 5 haven't confirmed anything, people need to stop acting like they have or else they're going to feel like bollocks when they say it's not happening.
Although tbf by that story the quote, 'We should be hearing a conformation' in the next coming weeks' does sound promising.

Next couple of weeks and a couple of weeks later another couple of weeks and weeks turn into years...........You may as well get used to the fact it is not coming back EVER............

At the press breakfast they held a fortnight or so ago, they were giving mixed signals, the bods chatting one-on-one with the press were saying talks are on-going but Jeff Ford, the channel's direct of programmes, apparently denied recent reports that the show was coming back not commenting on the existence of any talks ("I don't think there's anything to say about that"). I'll give it a month or so, Neil Wilkes, outgoing tube talk editor and a key member of the team at Digital Spy, is usually good for television info and he's likely to have a good feeling for things simply from reactions to questions at the above event and wouldn't stake his reputation on it if it was looking unlikely.

They can't announce anything until all the deals and permissions are signed and practicalities like staff recruitment and house reconstruction are set in motion.

personally i don't care how long it takes i just want bb back, they may be ******ing people around but better to be ******ed around than it never coming back i say. i think also we are supposed to be the ones who love Big Brother and want it back so why not think positive and just wait.
guys just stop arguing, if it does then great if it doesn't then oh well we had 10 years of Big Brother and we will move on. that should be the end of it. \
also if it is happening on channel 5 they will want it to be a surprise to get all the press talking. so they will wait until all the rumours have basically stopped and then announce it. if for a whole year everyone knew it would definitely be coming back people wouldn't be worked up by it or surprised when it actually airs.

The fact that nothing has been outright denied is, to me, reason to be optimistic. Obviously there's a lot of chatter about the possibility of a BB revamp on C5 both online and in the press, and if it were completely untrue C5 would just straight-up say it's not happening. But no one's denying anything, they're just being coy, which makes sense if they're hammering out the final details of the agreement with Endemol. The only motivation to keep this charade up is if BB is most likely going to come back but it can't be publicized until the kinks in the contract are worked out.
