Well for someone who bums the real world so much, you should be looking at the world chart, and 135,000 in 8 days, that's not failing to me, it's just that she released it on a friday

Um what?
Her videos get millions of hits on YouTube. She's collectively had over a billion hits. If that ain't a way to promote a song idk what it.
Knowing her as well it'll probably have something controversial in it which will only spike the amount of viewers more.

There are English speaking people in France :conf2:
And I don't see what being British has to do with anything, so far it's gone to #1 in the following english speaking countries
Australia (ARIA)[40] 1
Canada (Canadian Hot 100)[39] 1

I disagree, think there has been much divided opinion over this tune and the majority don't like it, either way what is certain is that Lady Gaga will be more driven to succeed because some just want her to fail;).

It doesn't depend on the one tune, Gaga will still have her dedicate core UK fanbase regardless unless some fans get fed up or have had enough because IMO most people are fickle when it comes to music:D.
Hopefully Judas with RedOne will be better because her tracks with him are usually great!:).

Exactly.
If some fans thought 'Born This Way' is the weakest single and dont like it, and 'Judas' continues on the disappointment, she will lose fans... which will hence start her decline of success in the UK.

The video won't affect a damn thing as far as UK sales go. She released a sub standard song and on a stupid release date and it's her own fault for hyping it up so much when in fact it's like a subpar Madonna B-Side from the 80's.
People bought it because of the initial hype and it's plummeting sales since only prove that the song itself is weak and that people just don't care about it.
Zippy
23-02-2011, 07:58 PM
the song sucks ass and just doesn't have the quality to sustain itself beyond the initial hype. It's not like we even heard it long before its release either. After just a couple of weeks its already tired. It actually grates on my now with its crass, clumsy lyrics and overbusy production.
The video will no doubt give it a boost but all that proves is that the song itself is weak and needs distracting imagery to inflate its worth. So much for being a real artist of substance when she needs expensive pop videos to flog her wears.
And her album will never sell as many as Fame because those figures were grossly inflated anyways by adding two separately released albums sales together. Cheating.
Brilliant that Adele is absolutely massive worldwide at the moment just to show her up. Now there's a woman who really lets the voice and music do all the talking. No gimmicks or publicity stunts.

Wait for the video. Then we shall pass judgement.
But that's they answer to all her success. Take away the bizarre image and the super-expensive videos and you have a very ordinaryand derivative song. She is on the way to being 'last year's thing' at a rate of knots.
If the single shoots up to number one after the video is shown, it will actually prove the song is useless and needs a video to have success in the UK chart.

I'm not sure you can call it a failure. Well, you could but that would make you retarded.
She was #3 for two weeks in a row, without any promotion what so ever. She's done no promotion for Born This Way in the UK, yet she managed to stay in the top 3 for 2 weeks and she's still in the top 10.

this thread makes me want to tear down my poster. I am so sick and ****ing tired of Monsters.
My take...
People can call it a failure BECAUSE of her success everywhere else in the world; it charted at #3 in the UK, so in comparison to places where it went to #1, it flopped. The UK has quite a large, popular music scene (lots of British artists are popular around the world) so IMO it is a bit of a failure for Lady GaGa to only chart at #3 when she managed #1 in so many other places. A music video being released weeks after the song is not going to get it to #1. All it will do is improve its chart life - similarly to Britney Spears' new song, the only reason for releasing a video later, is because she knows the song isn't good enough to sustain popularity and momentum for very long. The reason for that is simple, it's an anthem aimed at a minority market, and not aimed at the masses, which in all honesty is what pop music should be about - capitalising on popularity. She's not going to do that by writing second rate gay anthems with cringe worthy lyrics and a throwback to the '80s beat. I've heard the song twice and I don't hate it, I just don't like it either, I just find it a bit embarrassing to listen to and I suspect that's the opinion of a lot of other people too.

The song's a flash in the pan, the sales were down to hype then the actual song itself and it couldn't sustain itself as people caught on to the fact that it's tripe and that's why it's slipping. Everything about this single is idiotic, from the cliche ridden lyrics to the marketing campaign. The hype killed the song and Gaga's inflated ego will end up killing her career if she releases any other stinkers like this....the new Thriller...HA.
She needs a good bit of failure, perhaps it'll dislodge her head from her own arse. Always making out she's special because she's tolerant, that should be the norm love, not something you alone should be celebrated for. It's just horrific really, she acts like she's God's gift but she can't do jacksh*t when someone's suffering abuse because of their sexuality or if they're falling deep into depression or self loathing. She just wants to make money of people's insecurities.

i think there should be a cull of little monsters like hitler did with the jews
i love jews btw but thats the only thinf i could think of

noooo! wait for teh video!1!!
The video will be nothing more than her probably with a shaved head, dressed as a nun in a church with Gays, Lesbians and Transexuals in the background, in Black and White.
The song should have a good video like Alejandro should of, but she'll just cover it with this whole 'GaGa is a God/Religion/Culture/Way Of Live Bollocks' once again.

It wasn't Gaga who said that her music helped people from not committing suicide, it was the people who were going to do it so you are wrong.
"She think's she's God's Gift to mankind." What evidence have you got to sugges that? Nothing.
The fact is - if she was a man who did rock music people would just call her a rockstar, but because she's a female who makes pop music people say that she's just stuck up her own arse and that she has an ego.
Weather you admit it or not, it's true. It's sexist.
The way she's suddenly started acting as if she's a Saint.
It wouldn't surprise me if there's a 'World GaGa Day' in a few years the way her and her annoying low life Suicidal fans carry on.
Your comments are too stupid. Gaga has only used religious imagey in ONE of her music video's.
And she hasn't started acting like she's a saint, but you're just trying to make it seem like she has.

The concept of the video is 'The birth of a new race that doesn't bear any prejudices'. http://www.greendaycommunity.org/Forum/public/style_emoticons/Dark/hmph.png
How the hell she's gonna do that while singing a song and dancing in under 5 minutes idk but it will happen

“Speaking purely from a musical standpoint, I think I am a great performer. I am a talented entertainer,” the singer tells the March issue of Vogue magazine. “I consider myself to have one of the greatest voices in the industry. I consider myself to be one of the greatest songwriters. I wouldn’t say that I am one of the greatest dancers, but I am really quite good at what I do.”
no ego at all

You are utterly ridiculous, I'm sexist for not liking Gaga? I'm not going to argue with you, Your posts are so incredibly moronic that their faults are there for anyone to see.

I didn't say that you are sexist for not liking Gaga, I said it's sexist to say that she is an egomaniac for the reasons that people do, because a man wouldn't be called an egomaniac if he said the same thing. Fact.
No. It's not fact. It's overzealous, illogical, dumbelievable bullshit. You're talking out of your arse. Making comparisons between people dissing GaGa and people dissing these fairy liquid, male 'rockstars' whom you have invented in your head?
You're full of it.

Who knows?
Maybe she'll extend the video to try and make it cool and relevant, like she did with Alejandro.

Totally agree with this, the UK is quite a good place to get number 1 and she didn't. Its because the UK isn't as far up lady gaga's ass as the US, and this song as said by Zee isn't for the masses. I find this song embarassing, the lyrics are so cringeworthy its unbelieveable. She hasn't started her decline because she has number 1's all over the place it's just this song hasn't done as well as expected in the UK because its just so bad, having said that it did get to number 3 here and thats still a good position, but i suspect that was more because it was Gaga than because it was a good song, had it have been as good as her other songs like Pokerface i think it would have reached number 1. So she missed this time but i think and hope the next song is alot better than the mess she just released.
Now it surely has to be called a flop

Well, for gaga to drop so quickly down to 8 i think for her it is a flop, we are so used to her singles staying up in the top 3 for at least a couple of weeks, but in terms of music in general it not done badly.
