No one (still on this forum) has seen me before so i could be fake

In What way Fake?
Harbringer posted a sign before she revealed herself as Mollie but she covered her face and pink smurf ages ago made a sign that was obviously fake and never returned again.. ( could have been that Amby actually )

Pink Smurf :joker:
Can remember her
Would it matter in any way, if for example, GypsyGoth wasn't who you all thought she was? I've always said this but in my experience, I enjoy talking to personalities, it really doesn't matter to me who the person is in their every day life because the chances are, I'm never going to meet them in person. So let people pretend to be the opposite gender, a different age, live a different life, because it's not like it's any of your business what the reality is.

I think it's an entirely understandable cause for concern if someone has invented an alter ego to talk to strangers with for sometimes years on end in a forum community.
Call me conservative but most balanced, healthy people don't do that. I know there is exceptions but man. It takes a certain whacky streak.
Of course it doesn't matter what they are really like but it's the need to invent someone itself that I find odd.

I think it depends how far they take it. If they're just pretending to have a different name or be 10 years younger I dont really care, even if they pretend to be a different gender it doesnt hugely bother me although I'd find it a bit weird. Although if it turned out a 50 year old guy was pretending to be a teenage girl then I would think it a bit concerning

I'd only find it weird if they were using that personality for an ulterior motive (of the sinister variety) but otherwise it really doesn't bother me; I've discovered the real life identities of many online friends over the years, some of whom I spoke to on a daily basis but it's not been an issue for me, because as far as I'm concerned, I just enjoy speaking to their character, whether that be one they've invented, exaggerated or is their own, I don't mind.

you're only saying that because one of your friends turned out to be a complete liar hehe

My memory is too crap to make up lies. I'd never remember what I'd said about myself in a million years if it was a load of bollocks. Various people know enough to know I'm genuine
As for others. I take as I find and generally reply to the post, not the poster. I've obviously made friends and 'enemies' (a little strong) along the way. If they're fake, they're fake. Makes no odds. All comes out in the wash

:laugh3:
Tbf that would be quite a hilarious troll on the entire site.
Shaun insulting himself, pretending to be a huge pop fan and then ripping into his alter ego for having no musical credibility; then to add a twist to the tale, his alter ego is revealed as a male, not a female, to take the heat off Shaun.
It's like a murder mystery but better!
I dont really care if some people are not who they say they are online, it doesnt affect me in the slightest, as long as they dont turn out to be some crazy psycho stalker or something like that.
