Gallagher slams Radiohead, Mumford & Sons

Liam Gallagher has hit out at Radiohead and Mumford & Sons.

Speaking to The Quietus, the Beady Eye frontman suggested that Mumford & Sons should have seemed more enthusiastic about winning a Brit Award.

Gallagher said: "I think it's alright but they were ******ing ashamed about winning and that's the ******ing sad bit. 'Oh, we shouldn't be here!' Then what did you join a ******ing band for then?

"They bow their heads down going, 'Oh, we don't deserve it' like a ******ing d**k. What's that about? You must have seen it before so don't pretend like you've just come out of a cider apple factory... Still, it's better than Take That, isn't it?"

Talking about the lack of experimentation on Beady Eye's debut Different Gear, Still Speeding, he added: "We're quite happy doing the rock 'n' roll thing. We just like what we do. I heard that ******ing Radiohead record and I just go, 'What?!' I like to think that what we do, we do ******ing well.

"Them writing a song about a ******ing tree? Give me a ******ing break! A thousand year old tree? Go ****** yourself! You'd have thought he'd have written a song about a modern tree or one that was planted last week. You know what I mean?"

Oh go away you hateable little man and take your Oasis B-sides tribute band with you.

Lol, the last quote. He's truly slipping into self-parody. Reminds me of another Gallagher...

As much as I find the Gallaghers boorish and deluded(they seem to think its forever 1998 and theyre still top dog) I do actually believe they say what they really think. It does them no favours though and you'd think they would have learnt to be a bit more tactful with age. Nope.

I actually don't think he's smart enough to do it as a publicity ploy. It's just that he's now doing interviews and the Gallaghers just can't control their big gobs. Piss easy for a journo to get headlines out of them bitching about other big acts.

Go on Liam

Definately, I love it when Liam gets going, I remember when they were interviewing him once. Then at the point where they were going to switch to talking to Noel, Liam said, the interviewer would soon need a pillow when he starts talking because he never stops and talked ..........

his right about radiohead lol.

Despite his perhaps less than 'gentle' delivery of his commenting, I actually find I agree with him. I like Liam, he wakes things up.

Plenty of artists are forthcoming and honest. I like the ones who actually have interesting things to say and can articulate themselves. And write a bit of music, too. That's always good. Music that sounds different and interesting.
