Inspired by a comment I just posted on here, what films (if any) would you give a 10/10 to?

Personally, there's very few films that I think are 'perfect' or that need nothing changed about them, a lot of my favourite ever films I wouldn't say are deserving of a 10/10, however there are a few which tick each and every box for making an epic film. The sort of film that you watch and everything about it (acting, screenplay, cinematography, plot etc.) just blows you away and you can't stop talking about it.

A couple of mine: (Will edit later when I think of some more)

Shutter Island
Requiem For A Dream
The Silence Of The Lambs
City of God
Fight Club
V For Vendetta

I think films can be 10/10 judged against themselves. The Matrix - my favourite live action movie of all time - doesn't exactly have classic acting but the character roles are played as well as they should have been for what they are and it's not an 'acting' film anyway so on it's own basis it's a 10. I'm pretty easy with films anyway and can probably name dozens that I think fulfilled themselves to what I think was a perfect 10.

So my list goes :

The Matrix
Fight Club
This Is Spinal Tap
Pulp Fiction
The Shawshank Redemption.
The Big Lebowski
Amelie
Se7en
Shallow Grave
Trainspotting
Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory [the original, duh]
The Godfather parts I & II
Schindlers List
The Great Escape
Goodfellas
Monty Python's Holy Grail & Life Of Brian
Mississipi Burning
Forest Gump
28 Days Later
Batman [Tim Burton original]
Full Metal Jacket
A Clockwork Orange
Die Hard
Back To The Future
E.T.
Star Wars prequels.
Zodiac.
Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind.
Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels
Snatch
American History X

That's just off the top of my head. To hell with 'critical' analysis. These films were perfect for what they were, IMO.

Agreed on Shutter Island and Silence of the Lambs, City of God I'd give an 8 or 9 though and V for Vendetta only a 7 :p

I'd also give a 10 to:
- Downfall
- The Lives of Others
- Nicholas & Alexandra

And then maybe Star Wars Episode V and The Usual Suspects but they'd probably be more of a 9

I'm not a movie person so usually a movie does nothing for me, and most films i come out of and say is rubbish. The only one i can say i actually really liked was Avatar so i think this would be the only movie i'd give 10/10
