I started working on these just after the series ended, my sort of tribute to the Big Brother franchise, I had them finished for a while but never had the confidence to show them to anyone until now.

I based the design of them on the Survivor DVD covers, which have 6 of the most prominant characters on the cover. Here's the designs and I hope you like them, some of the earlier series are in lower quality as it is very difficult to get a hold of photos of the earlier series in high quality.

personally i'd put the whole cast on the covers (somehow) but still a great job nonetheless :thumbs:

There are full cast images available, the large problem with them though is that they are done just after launch night, which means that any 'intruders' aren't featured in them, so you wouldn't have prominant characters like Eugene, Aisleyne, Sara, Bea or Sam Pepper on them, and in the case BB8 you wouldn't even have the winner (Belo was an intruder).

Unfortunately I don't have the profile photos for the first 3 celebrity series, so I can't do them unfortunately. If you can get a hold of them I'll give it a whirl.

I have to wait until the end of the series before finishing BB12's cover unfortunately. I have the background template designed though, I just need to put everyone on, which I can't really do yet since I don't know who finishes where.

I'm bumping this up mainly to ask you two questions:

The first is that at this moment 5 contestants are locks to be on the cover (Aaron, Jay, Alex, Faye and Anton). The question is who should be given the sixth slot? At this moment in time it's between Harry and Louise, but there is also a strong case for Jem and Tom, I'd like your opinions on who makes it.

The second question is that normally the top centre position on the cover is reserved for the winner, however the Survivor DVD covers (which I base my designs on) have given the top centre spot to non-winners before in cases where the non-winner in question was such a prominant and important character to the show (Rupert in Pearl Islands). It is something I replicated with putting Janelle top centre on the BBUS 6 DVD cover.

The point is that I am seriously considering giving Aaron this treatment and putting him top centre even if he doesn't win, would you be OK with this?

I've just finished tweaking my BBUK designs. Most of them is a redo of the backgrounds and making the middle and bottom bars smaller to fit with the more professional BBUK template, but in the case of BB7 and BB8 it has been a complete revamp of the cover.

Other changes to note:
BB1: Background changed from black to dark blue
BB6: Craig replaces Kemal
CBB6: Latoya replaces Michelle

CBB9 is currently in development. I'm going to respond to some of the comments made in regards to BB12 and use the template seen in the opening credits as opposed to the 2D template.

There's a couple of issues as of this moment.
1) I have 3 locks for the cover at this moment in time, Michael, Denise and the Twins, who should in your opinion be the other 3?
2) In regards to the twins should they appear as separate contestants on the cover ala Sam and Amanda or should they appear together ala Jedward, thus creating a 7 person cover.

I went with Kirk instead of Frankie as I feel he's done a bit more of the two. This is still a rough cut and the final cut will depend on the final result.
As much as I love them I hope the twins don't win, it too me ages to get that bottom row right.

Well I've made the obvious change after Natalie's eviction. I'm weighing up the options now in regards to what happens now with the design.

Should Natalie deserve a cover place still?

What am I going to do if the twins win? Scale down the top row or give them the top row themselves?

I thought I'd treat people to something a little bit different today.

A big DVD set such as this is going to require bucket loads of discs, So I came up with the idea of making a holding box, including the front, back, spine, top and bottom. You can print it onto cardboard, fold and glue where necessary and have yourself a case to hold all your DVD discs.

I chose to do BB12 since it was the most recent normal series.

I thought I'd put a little something together with it being BB 'off season' as it were. You'll already know that I designed a cover for BBUS allstars, however that was using a 14 person format similar to the one used on the Survivor All Stars DVD, that design however is very love or hate, so I produced a traditional, 6 person DVD format which you should all be familiar with.

I started working on these just after the series ended, my sort of tribute to the Big Brother franchise, I had them finished for a while but never had the confidence to show them to anyone until now.

I based the design of them on the Survivor DVD covers, which have 6 of the most prominant characters on the cover. Here's the designs and I hope you like them, some of the earlier series are in lower quality as it is very difficult to get a hold of photos of the earlier series in high quality.

The hyperlink I was using for the back covers was broken after they website had an update, it's fixed now however.

Some people were asking about holding boxes a while back, well I'm happy to say that I have managed to put some together. Based on the scale I used for my template these boxes should be able to hold 3 normal sized DVD cases or 6 slimline cases, but don't take this as gospel.

I've got series 7-12 complete as of now, the rest are coming in due course. I'll post these in spoilers since they are quite large.

I do have a question to ask you out of curiousity; aside from the top centre (obviously) which position on the DVD cover do you feel carries more importance, is it the top row or the bottom centre?

Using Big Brother 3 as an example of this in my designs I have the winner (Kate) in the top centre position with the two most important characters after her (Jade and Alex) either side of her on the top row, however the alternative approach would be to have Jade in the bottom centre position, thus not obscuring her or having her in the background in any way.

The BB3 layout is currently this:
Alex - Kate - Jade
Jonny - Tim - Adele

however the second approach would change it to:
Jonny - Kate - Alex
Tim - Jade - Adele

I'm just curious which one you prefer.
PS. I'm not sure about Tim's placing, which would you go for between him, Spencer or Allison?

Redesigned my BBUS designs which you can find on post number 8. The noticable changes are:

-Changes to the background designs of each cover which are now more noticable.
-Moving around some people, in most cases moving more prominant characters into a bottom centre position (Danielle, Kaysar, Jen, Sheila, Jeff)
-Switiching the colour scheme of BB5 to a lighter blue
Finding some high quality images of the BB4 cast, meaning I can finally put Robert and Jee on the cover.

So with CBB10 coming to an end tonight who do you think we are looking at as the six which should make the cover.

As of now I'm thinking the six should be the winner, Julie, Danica, Sitch, Colleen and Julian, should one of those win then I'm thinking Lorenzo due to the love triangle.

It's a tricky one this series because we have to take into account not only what they contributed to the series but also their pre-show star power, someone like Martin Kemp should be a lock due to his pre-show, but he's done nothing during the series.

Thanks to getting the full body shots I was able to make a hybrid of Julan's full body shot and his profile picture, thus having the winner 'infront' of the other two members of the top row (which is my personal preference). Julian, Julie, Danica, Sitch and Coleen were the locks for the cover, but I went with Lorenzo mainly because of his role in the series-long love triangle, the other alternatives were Jasmine (who the first out) and Martin who was well known but didn't do anything).

ATM I'm favouring a Blue, Purple and Teal colour scheme with Rylsn, Speidi, Claire and Razor as locks, with possibly Lacey and Paula as the other two.

The software is GIMP 2.0, it's basically a free version of Photoshop.

Five of the six were locks to make it, and it was a toss up between which of Tom, Talla and Andrew made it, and most people I asked went for Tom due to his prominence in the early weeks, mind you if I had known how big Topaz's blunder would be she would have a claim to the spot.

New cover time, I mocked this up over the course of today and there are some aspects that could be tweaked but I'll face the music and upload it first to gauge the general opinion.

For this one I decided to take a different approach with the design in particular in regards to the bar and circle approach which I had used in my previous covers, feeling that with the new Channel 5 eye that the old format did not prove as effective or as professional as what it may have done for the Channel 4 eye, so for this design I decided to discard the white around the eye and just have the eye on it's own, with the 'bar' being a simple black separating bar. This design I'm not too sure about myself, but I'll let you be the judge of it and if you feel unsure about it I'll happily change it, as ever feedback is appreciated

I felt even though I hated Ian and Alec they were major characters and important to the series, more so then Talla and Andrew IMO. Tom over Topaz was a tricky one but I went with Tom because this guy dominated the coverage in the pre jury.

Woah! These are great - keep the BB6 cover as Ant, Makosi, Derek, Craig, Kemal and Science, dont replace either of the legends that are Kemal and Craig with dullard Eugene!

Also Lea should be on the BB7 cover as she was such a big character and involved in a lot of story's but then there is no one to to replace her with I suppose, perhaps Richard or Glyn?

Peter was such a non-factor in the actual BB Canada game (ooh, he helped get Suzette out...) it's a bit silly for him to be on the cover.

The colour scheme of the background looks identical to one of the Survivor DVDs but I can't remember which one...

But Peter was also a producers pet who got loads of coverage within the show even if he didn't deserve it. I don't like him as a person or a player but he is one of the characters most remembered by the casuals unfortunately.

As for the Survivor cover I think it was Marquesas which had the blue and purple scheme.

Not sure which I prefer Karl, your six housemates on the cover design or this 3 top half/5 bottom half look. I think I prefer the original six housemate designs though, with the faces being the same size. There is also the option of ten housemates same size of 5 top half/5 bottom half, Just a thought. I guess that would be too much though and somehow wouldn't look right.

I'd like to see all series with this 3 top half/5 bottom half look though for my final verdict.:) Don't know if you have done more like this in another thread, but if so can you put me a link please?

Unfortunately the Blu Ray cover was the only design of this kind that I've done, it was just a trial for somebody who wanted a Blu ray design which was a bit different to my usual covers.

What I can give you though is the CBB12 cover design:

The end of a new series means a new DVD cover to commemorate it's end, this one is for CBB12 and features the same design used for BB14. A couple of notes on this one is that I initially wanted Courtney on the top row but found that her hair was so massive that it would be almost impossible without throwing off the rest of the design in the process. As well as that I did find choosing the sixth person quite difficult to choose, but went with Sophie Anderton due to her status as an early series villain, also I decided to do away with the shadowing since some people weren't too keen on it.

Ooh, that new CBB design is one of my favourites - good colour scheme.

I think Louie and Carol should swap places because of the way he's winking. And it'd be good to have a picture of Vicky in the backdrop as she was still a significant part of the series (you could make a case for having Carol and Vicky at the bottom in the same row as the series 'rivals', but Sophie makes sense).

Got the BB15 front and back done today, all of the Elissa profile images were very low focus so I had to compromise and alter a bit to try and bump it up a bit but it's still not the best, things are still a little rough so I am willing to make some changes to the design depending on feedback:

A couple of notes from this one is that for some reason CBS decided to use more 'active' profile shots for the houseguests and as a result meant that there were inconsistencies in terms of houseguest position and action which made creating this one a bit more awkward, this is particularly noticable in Andy and Amanda. Also Elissa's profile shot was a full body shot which made her head at a lower resolution then what I would have liked, and although I did try and tweak her image with sharpening tools it still wasn't ideal.

As ever though feedback is appreciated

Because there were only six spots and I had to take into account who I felt the casuals would like and who CBS would put on the cover if they actually used this format. Andy (winner), Elissa, Aaryn and Amanda were locks to be there, Judd was very popular with the casuals so he'd get the call and Helen was semi-popular and had a big edit in the highlights shows.

If it was based solely on who I liked then Jessie and Candice would have made it, but you have to take personal opinion out of this when making a cover.

The end of another Big Brother series means yet another DVD cover from me, this one being for the recently finished Celebrity Big Brother 13. Personally I am really happy at the way that this one turned out, I think that I was able to get the ideal six people onto the cover and thankfully their profile images were positioned so that I was able to use the 'looking outward' style that I prefer to use. I think that the purple and gold design goes well with the eye designed although I do admit I wondered whether or not to stick with the clouds in the central ring as I fear the may be a touch out of place, but aside from that quibble I am happy with this one and I hope that you are as well.

A design for the DVD cover of the second season of Big Brother Canada. A couple of notes for this one is that for this cover I chose to use the golden design used in the opening credits which whilst it does look nice leaves me in a pickle if production chooses not to change the design year on year ala BBUK, so it is probable this colour scheme might be used for future seasons. The other point of note concerns the placements for each of the contestants, as normal I have placed the two central characters of the series (Jon and Neda) in the central slots, but due to aesthetic reasons I couldn't put Sabrina on the top row as I had originally planned due to how she is posing in her profile picture, and as a result it meant having to put Kenny on the top row as this was the only available position for him which would still look OK on the cover. I just wanted to clarify this before I received complaints from people as to why I put such a disliked player on the top row.

As ever I appreciate any kind of feedback.

A couple of changes I've made since last time. I've changed the style of the eye for CBB8, CBB9 and BB12 to fit the new styling of the C5 era covers. I will do BB13 and CBB10 in due course but it will mean redesigning the covers fully.

As well as this I have also uploaded some of the backs which I did for my BBUS and BBCAN covers, with just BB2 left to do. You can find all of my designs on page one.

It's 5 out of 6, I'm going with Danielle instead of Toya, simply because I think Toya didn't last long enough to warrant it IMO. For an early boot you either have to be amazingly infamous (Grace and Nasty Nick) or in an incredibly weak series (Anoushka) to warrant being included.

I need your feedback particularly on the colour scheme as I fear the blue may be a bit too dark for it's own good and I'm not entirely sure about the choices of cast photos or if everyone is an equal size, plus I want to maybe look at some finishing touches to make it seem a bit more professional. I have to say though as much as I love Ashleigh her hair is so massive it's taken up a lot of room on the top row.

People can design their own covers with Toya if they want, I honestly feel she was a one week wonder, no different to a Sylvia or a Benedict.

I've mistakes with some if my casting choices before but I don't feel Danielle over Toya is one of them, I'd honestly put Chris ahead of Toya too.

I don't think Toya should be on either. She wasn't much of a character beyond a couple of days. I think Pauline pips Danielle though. :hehe:

I'll be honest peeps I'm struggling with who to put on the CBB14 cover. Gary, Frenchie and James are locks but the others I'm not too sure on. I'm leaning right now for Audley (runner up and feud with James), Dee (Late season villain, notable stunt casting of the season) and Kellie (Stunt casting and given a lot of airtime from production). But then there are people like Stephanie, Leslie and George who could justifiably get a place as well.

If I were to do it, I'd probably put Katie P, Perez and either Nadia or Keith along the top, and then Katie H, Michelle and Calum at the bottom. But it's your choice.

Anyway, as MB suggested, Cami was one of the biggest witches of the series. Not to mention, a lot more "irrel" than either Nadia or Alicia (especially Nadia, who was one of the talking points of the series).

Cody didn't do anything aside from screwing up the final 2 decision, especially over producer pet Caleb and fan favourite Nicole.

As for Keith making the cover i felt him and Michelle were equally relevant but Keith had a stronger star power which would appeal to casuals.

As much as I dislike the guy myself I'm afraid Kevin made the cover simply because I feel that this is the decision that Global would make if they produced these DVD's themselves. The guy was given a golden edit in the highlights shows and I believe had to most confessionals out of every contestant this season, so unless he comes back and pulls a Brandon Hantz I can't see him getting cut unfortunately.

BB16 DVD cover is difficult :/ I literally can't think who should make it.

Chloe, Joel and Marc are locks. The other three I guess should be Jack, Simon, Jade or Eileen? :/ maybe Harry.

I liked Sam but she didn't do enough. I only suggested Eileen because it was a **** season and she's one of the few I'll remember.

I have to come out first and foremost and say I wasn't a fan of this year's series, and possibly a lack of emotional investment meant that I had a hard time deciding who would make the cast. Chloe as the winner and Mark were locks, and I went with Jack, Harry, Joel and Jade to round off the group, Jade was one I was a little borderline about considering her comparatively early departure, but she was a big character and as her late season return showed that she is held in high regard by the production team. I also have to say as well that the colour scheme for this series allowed me to use this dark teal scheme which in my opinion is rather appealing.

Feedback as ever is appreciated.

I gave myself the rule when I was doing the cover that I wouldn't have put any of the legends on. If they were legitimate housemates that could win the show then yes, but as purely guests then I overlooked it. If I did allow guests then Gaetano would probably be on the BB4 cover.

I'm trialling a new version of the BBUS DVD covers which incorporate the logo into the cover similar to the BBCAN covers, I've mocked up two versions of these to gauge your opinions and if they get the seal of approval I'll do the rest.

BB6: Does Janelle get the Rupert treatment and stay top centre?
BB7: James over Chicken George?
BB11: Jessie on the BB11 cover? Or keep Michele/ Kevin and have all four cliques represented?

A couple of notes from this batch:
-Kalia replaces Porsche as per the requests of many, but adding Kalia meant having to shuffle some people around as Kalia and Danielle together on the bottom row didn't look that good (they're both wearing blue so it looked like their bodies were joined together), so I had to shuffle but in the process feel like I've lost the 'vets vs newbies' design I had going.
- Britney and Rachel swap places in BB12 largely to try and hide Hayden's shoulders, plus I've scaled the images down slightly as the top row was getting a touch cluttered.
- I teased adding Jessie to the BB11 cover as he was arguably a bigger character then Kevin and Michele, but I wanted one of each clique on the design as per the twist of the season. Jordan got the popular slot (obviously), Jeff, Russell and Nat for the athletes leaving one brain (Michele) and one offbeat (Kevin)
