Album, Selected Songs or Shuffle Listener?

Do you tend to play through complete albums when you listen to music, select the songs you want right there right then (be it singles or album songs you like), or do you just shuffle and be satisfied whatever comes up? :spin:


I select the songs, I never bother with shuffle because it always ends up choosing songs that are meh and occasionly play through an album if Im in the mood for a particular artist.

Shuffle as I have a load of songs on my iTunes and I never know what I fancy listening to.

I do all three on my iTunes but I pretty much only use shuffle on my iPhone.

I usually listen to albums when I'm on the train or bus cos I usually read and then I don't have to bother thinking about choosing songs. Shuffle when I'm on my laptop. And choosing songs the rest of the time. Sometimes I put shuffle on but just skip half the songs and end up choosing them anyways.

Pick one I want to listen to but I have it set to shuffle so after that it's random...

If I play an studio album I listen to it from start to end but if I am listening to a greatest hits album or want to listen to a couple of tracks I will do so.

I usually want music to compliment my mood, so I pick albums/songs I like. And Id 'prob listen to songs more.

Good point, while Im doing schoolwork Ill just stick an album on, although if its boring Ill use choosing the next song as a distraction from it. :tongue:

Bit of everything I think If I get to a new album I'll listen through, after that it'll go to shuffle, but sort of selected shuffle :p

shuffle or album. I can't be bothered picking a song every 3 minutes - would rather just let something play for a long time.

Make a new playlist every few days then shuffle it. normally there is only about 7/8 songs anyway

I usually notice songs when they get released as singles. It happens all the time with Katy and Ke$ha's songs, not that I don't love the songs already but once their released officially I acknowledge them more, think it's because I hear them on radio/TV. Your Love Is My Drug went from like 50 ish plays to over 200 because I kept hearing it all the time. :D

Shuffle but then I end up skipping about 10 songs each time until I get one I like :laugh:

Always albums unless I'm flicking through tracks when I'm inebriated/getting ready to go out/after coming back from said night out.

I like devouring a particular album with all it's associated atmospheres and concepts as one complete work. Especially walking to/from places. Another reason I don't use public transport.

Normally shuffler, cus that's what I have on last.fm. Sometimes select songs on YouTube or whatever, if I want to listen to something in particular, never play albums though. So voted for shuffler.

I mainly use a CD player when I'm at home because the quality is better through my proper speakers than my laptop speakers so I just play albums.

Depends what mood I'm in but I'm usually a shuffler when I'm listening to my iPod.

I'm terrible at just listening to my fave tracks on an album. I really should learn to give the other tracks more of a listen.

I think people have very short attention spans with music now because its so easy to select specific tracks.

I kinda do this with my micro hifi. It has a SD slot and a usb socket. I put all my current fave tracks on a SD card or usb stick then play on shuffle.
