Obviously I'm not joking, it's not that hard to do well if you put the effort in, we came 5th two years ago

the reason we came 5th two years ago was because we threatened to pull out because we was unfairly finishing in the bottom 5 every year when sometimes we should have won it.
and considering we put the most money in the damn thing, they was scared **** of us pulling out.

According to wiki: "Since 2000, the United Kingdom, Germany, France and Spain have automatically qualified for the Eurovision final, regardless of their positions on the scoreboard in previous Contests.[33] They earned this special status by being the four biggest financial contributors to the EBU (without which the production of the Eurovision Song Contest would not be possible)"
I guess that's what he's talking about

I always thought the hosting country had to pay for it, that was always a running joke here when we kept winning (see Fr,Ted episode:joker: ) .........though I don't claim to be a Eurovision expert:laugh:

I like the Blue song, the UK has put some dire songs in to be honest in the past few years, I really like Jedwards also(in fact I prefer Jedwards to Blues) and hope they both do really well, Jedward if they get through the semi final stage will be zany enough but also good enough to appeal to the wider Euro audiences so it could be more interesting this year.
We are one of the majort contributors of funds to the contest though regardless of who wins it,they have to finance the current contest but year on year it needs funding to continue.
There is bias between the countries but even allies dont help us either usually, Israel for instance hardly gives the UK anything yet we speak up for them endlessly and for decades France was always a hard country for the UK to get points from.
Hopefully this year there will be more of the middle range 7 and 8 points given to the UK and also Ireland that will help considerably.
Its still a fun thing,I enjoy it.
No we came 5th because they introduced a new jury voting system as well so the votes aren't solely based on which country gives the most points to the other, it's 50/50 with that and the jury's votes. We did crap last year, because our song was crap.
I actually quite like this one and think we could place highly again.
The only country that we can ever rely on for points these days is Malta :bored:

Blue are too good for this third rate irrelevant competition. Winning it doesn't even do much for your career(that German woman who won last year is even back again this year so she clearly needs more publicity).
I like this but who the hell knows how it will do the voting is so unpredictable. Its not like the best songs always do well.
Blue reformed in 2009 just to do a tour...then split up again. Theyve got back together just for this euro gig as far as Im aware. Probably split again afterwards.

Its predictable.
That melody at the intro and through out the song is used in every fcuking pop song.
Think Alexandra burke "the silence" and iyaz "replay"

He has a point though tbf, Blue have had 3 albums & 3 singles that reached number 1 as well as 8 other top ten hits. No recent British entry has had anywhere near as much success as that

Oh, so success defines goodness now? :bored:
The song is just a parody of everything around at the moment. It sounds like a Taio Cruz b-side.

This this this this this.
They've been irrelevant for longer than they were relevant to pop music, the song's terrible IMO.
