Like the contestants on its hit gameshow, Endemol's owners are facing Total Wipeout.

It may be the world's largest independent TV producer, but its value has now been written down to zero on the books of Telecinco. This implies a market value of less than its €2bn debts.

Revenues last year, at just over €1.2bn, are no higher than they were in 2007. Endemol's earnings, which peaked at €230m in 2007, have been steadily declining. The debt news service CapitalStructure reports that Endemol has warned lenders it expects earnings to fall to €140m in 2011.

Despite the problems, Endemol's UK management still completed a major earnout (golden handcuffs deal) last year, and its bosses are now being offered big packages to stay. UK chief executive Tim Hincks has signed a five-year deal which runs until 2014, worth £714,000 in annual salary and £2m a year in bonuses. Chief executive Ynon Kreiz, who made his fortune building and selling Fox Kids Europe, is unlikely to walk away. He has invested not just his reputation in exchange for remuneration even more generous than Hincks's.

he may be a alright guy but so many celebrities do more charity work. what actually qualifies him better than any other. he has a drum kit wow. you just seem to be parading a cause on the forum for Desmond support when its not needed nor deserved. and he isn't making tv he is managing the making of tv. he bought a channel not a tv production company he bought a platform for other shows to be broadcast on and i think others should receive more praise for their work making entertainment rather than an old man who seems to just defend himself a lot when no one actually has criticised him.

as i said earlier he has done nothing better than any other business man. he is changing channel 5, 2 questions does anyone care about channel 5, if all its good shows went on to other channels (which is like 2) and it disappeared i don't think anyone would make that much of a fuss ? and who said he is changing it for the better he is in the middle of changing it, its still pretty bad to be honest. big brother on channel 5 is the only decision i will respect him for if it happens, and i wont if he over americanises it and turns it into rubbish (which hopefully wont happen and he will just give endemol full control).

he has done nothing more than any other person that deserves respect over him. and to be honest he speaks about himself like a twat.

How would you know they need better managers you don't work there. You just act as if your way is the only way and it's not the case from what I've seen most of the time you are more or less wrong.
