Really hope they get more of the original cast back, hopefully this will be a return to form for the series, the last one (Hole in One I think it was) was pretty shocking

Going to be set around a reunion and Michelle being pregnant with Jim's baby apparently.

This has been in the works for about a year though, they've took their time getting people to sign up.

Why is William Scott in rehab? He is a sex addict? Haha quite ironic with his Steve Stiffler character!

No, there has been 4. But they are "American Pie Presents:" so they don't count.

That's not American Pie, it's the Stifler actor but the character has a different name: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1263800/

Universal has been warming the development oven for a while now, ready to heat up a brand new serving of American Pie. And, rather than just dish up another shoddy direct-to-DVD effort, the studio has now locked in Seann William Scott, Jason Biggs and (because he’s shown up for every film to date, so why not?) Eugene Levy for American Reunion.

Harold and Kumar co-creators Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg are the men who have successfully pitched a new outing for the franchise, which will address the fact that the characters are now further along in their lives.

And it looks like they’re aiming to get almost the entire original cast back on board, with negotiations under way to secure the services of Thomas Ian Nicholas, Mena Suvari, Chris Klein, Tara Reid, Shannon Elizabeth and Jennifer Coolidge. More difficult to convince might be Alyson Hannigan, who has found a steady gig with sitcom How I Met Your Mother.

While most of them will likely be happy to get a career boost (save Hannigan and Coolidge, who probably don’t need it), it remains to be seen whether audiences are ready to embrace the gang once more. We’ll find out next year, as the film is planned to start shooting this May.

Alyson Hannigan Confirmed For American Pie 4

Alyson Hannigan has signed up for American Pie 4, reports OnTheRedCarpet.com. Alyson Hannigan will join the movie's original stars Jason Biggs and Seann William Scott in the cast of the new film. Hannigan will reprise her role as the flute playing geek "Michelle".

37-year-old Alyson was noticeable absent from the last four 'American Pie Presents' spin offs movies and last appeared in the 2003 film 'American Pie: The Wedding', when her character married the hapless 'Jim'. The new movie is expected to follow Michelle and Jim's married life and will feature a high school reunion.

The actress rose to fame playing 'Willow' on the cult series 'Buffy The Vampire Slayer' and more recently played 'Lily Aldrin' on the hit series 'How I Met Your Mother'. Also reprising their roles in the new 'American Pie' will be William Scott who plays the abrasive 'Stifler' and Eugene Levy, who plays Jim's comedic father.

The original movie, starring Alyson Hannigan, Tara Reid, Shannon Elizabeth and Natasha Lyonne, was released in 1999 to critical acclaim. Stars such as Reid and Elizabeth have yet to confirm their involvement in the forthcoming film, set to hit cinemas in January 2012.

Oz is in

Chris Klein has officially boarded the forthcoming American Pie 4.

The actor's rep confirmed to Us Weekly that the 32-year-old has signed to reprise his role of Chris "Oz" Ostreicher for the comedy franchise's fourth big-screen outing.

Alyson Hannigan, Jason Biggs and Tara Reid are also attached to appear in the project, which centres on the group organising a ten-year high school reunion.

Klein recently completed a two-month rehab stay following a 96-hour jail sentence that he received after pleading no contest to a second DUI charge.

The actor filmed a guest spot on the season finale of Fox's The Good Guys after leaving rehab.

Klein's American Pie co-star Seann William Scott also signed on to the sequel after recently leaving a rehab facility.

The final main cast member of the original American Pie has agreed terms to join the franchise's latest entry American Reunion.

The Hollywood Reporter confirms that Thomas Ian Nicholas has finalised a deal to reprise his role as Kevin Myers in the upcoming Universal sequel.

The fourth theatrical American Pie release will follow the original characters as they organise a ten-year reunion on Facebook and see how each of their lives have changed since Michelle and Jim's marriage in the last film, American Wedding.

Nicholas joins an extensive list of confirmed cast members including Jason Biggs, Alyson Hannigan, Seann William Scott, Tara Reid, Mena Suvari, Eddie Kaye Thomas, Eugene Levy and Chris Klein

American Pie supporting actress Shannon Elizabeth recently suggested that she would only return for the sequel if the script was right.

American Reunion is scheduled to hit cinemas on April 6, 2012.
