I've returned just for this one thread, as you all know it's St Patrick's Day.

I went on Google just to search for something and was appalled, it appears Google have completely blanked the Irish and St Patrick's Day this year.

However as we all know, they've spent the past year changing their logo every week because it's some unknown professor's birthday or the 100th Anniversary of Cabbage or something stupid like that.

Quite insulting really, anyway I'd like to know what your Favourite Google St Patrick's Day Logo was from the past 10 Years.

Not all the UK is Protestant but they still put one up for St George's Day and stuff like that.

Who cares about the Google.ie the point still stands the UK Google ignored it this year when they haven't the past 10 years, except for 2003.

And that logo [on the Irish Google looks cheap and ugly].

St Georges Day is for England which makes up most of the UK, not that anyone in England celebrates it anyway.

I was really surprised to see they hadn't done one. I even checked just after midnight to see what it'd be :(

I hate to tell you this mate but Saints George, David, Andrew and Patrick are all Catholic saints. They were canonised by the early Catholic church.

St. George's Day has nothing to do with protestantism. Saint George died 1200 years before Martin Luther or the Church of England existed. Most countries for whom he is the patron saint (Georgia, Serbia, etc) are actually Eastern Orthodox and also Spain and Lebanon whose largest body of Christians are Catholic.

And in fact St. George's Day is still not a public holiday in the UK -not even in England- even though St. Patrick's Day is.
