With the notoriously brutal chat show host planning on questioning the 35-year-old comedian about his wild past, Russell is reportedly determined not to follow in the footsteps of Cheryl Cole, who was reduced to tears when discussing her recent divorce from Chelsea star Ashley Cole.
In fact, Russell is so certain he won't break down in tears on the ITV1 show that he is thinking about turning the tables on Piers altogether.
An insider explained: 'Piers knows how to push people's buttons but Russell just says, 'Bring it on!' He's not worried about anything he wants to ask him and he's determined he won't cry like some of the other guests.
'Piers may need to watch out, Russell's sense of humour could see the tables turned on him.'
However, veteran rocker Rod Stewart may also need to watch his step, as the comedian is said to be planning to take a swipe at him after the Maggie May hitmaker recently rubbished claims Russell had slept with 90 women in one month during his days as a lothario.
The source added to the Daily Star newspaper: 'I'm sure Russell will have a few digs of his own to get back at Rod. His interview will be captivating TV.
