View Full Version : What would your 'last meal' be?

I was under the impression this was a myth, but according to this site I just looked up it's quite commonplace for inmates about to be executed to request a 'last meal' up to a couple of days in advance.
However there are obviously rules - California has a $40 limit and must be something the prison has in stock. Texas regularly posts theirs into the public domain - some famous examples have been two pints of mint chocolate chip ice cream, 24 tacos (the inmate was only give 4) and "world peace".
Apparently the most common is a cheeseburger and fries.
But what would yours be?

I'd probably get a chinese. But I like the idea of it being something ridiculous - a toffee apple maybe.

Sakes, now I'm starving. All I can think about is chips, cheese and garlic mayo, mmmm. I don't know what my last meal would be though, there are literally too many things I'd want... maybe a lasagne, if my mum cooked it. :laugh2:

I'd want something I've not had for years - an Shawarma made from street vendors in Saudi Arabia, with lots of hot sauce. Never tasted anything quite like them - and have never had anything remotely close to how good they were - very small and quite thin, with meat that literally was packed with flavour and melted in the mouth.

screw the $40 limit. I'm gonna die what more do they want!!:bawling: Isn't it sad that even though they know their hours are numbered they still have to abide by rules? :( Actually this answer depends on the ferociousness of their crimes. But for sure there are plenty of wrongly convicted people on deathrow. Just sad. :( Generally I don't really believe in death row because that is murder itself, it's just that you have a paper that authorises you to kill. However wrong their crimes the bad thing about it is that when on deathrow their death date can be something from 5-20 years later. In that time for sure some of them change, view things differently to how they did back then and can't fathom how they actually went on to commit the crime. so walking over to execution you're almost a new person being murdered. :( Those that still have no remorse years down the line I feel less sorry for them.

Last meal: Clarence Carter, 49, went for tuna salad, wheat bread, oven-browned potatoes, turnip greens and an orange
It’s a death row inmate's last privilege and he could have had whatever he wanted.
But Clarence Carter, 49, was executed today after having a simple last meal of tuna salad, wheat bread, oven-browned potatoes, turnip greens, an orange and a drink.
Other inmates in the past have asked for last meals such as a bucket of chicken, lobster, fry-ups, ice-cream and steak - but Carter wanted the same as his fellow prisoners in an Ohio jail.
Death row inmates in the U.S. may traditionally request a last meal before they die.
Before being executed in 1990 for a robbery-murder in Houston, James Smith asked for a last meal of dirt, apparently for a voodoo ritual. He eventually settled for yoghurt.
Robert Harris, executed for murder in California in 1992, had a bucket of Kentucky Fried Chicken, two large pizzas, a six-pack of Pepsi, jelly beans and Camel cigarettes.
Serial killer Ted Bundy declined a last meal, so was offered the traditional steak, eggs, hash browns, toast, milk, coffee, juice, butter and jelly before his execution in 1989.

Teresa Lewis, the first woman executed in Virginia in nearly 100 years, had fried chicken, sweet peas with butter, German chocolate cake and Dr Pepper in 2010.
Other famous meals: Robert Harris had a KFC bucket, two large pizzas, a six-pack of Pepsi, jelly beans and Camel cigarettes - whereas Theresa Lewis, right, went for fried chicken, sweet peas with butter, German chocolate cake and Dr Pepper
Carter did request and was given dates, but wanted the same meal as other inmates.
SIX OF THE BEST: Famous last meals on death row
GARY GILMORE (1977): Hamburgers, eggs, potatoes, coffee and whisky
HENRY PORTER (1985): Tortillas, steak, beans, tossed salad, jalapeno peppers, ice cream and chocolate cake
TED BUNDY (1989): Steak, eggs, toast, milk, coffee, juice, butter, jelly and hash browns
JAMES SMITH (1990): Yoghurt [after asking for dirt]
ROBERT HARRIS (1992): Chicken bucket, two large pizzas, Pepsi six-pack, jelly beans and Camel cigarettes
TERESA LEWIS (2010): Fried chicken, sweet peas and German chocolate cake
He was executed by lethal injection in Lucasville, Ohio, this morning for killing Johnny Allen Junior, 33.
Allen died two weeks after a December 1988 beating in jail.
Carter punched, choked, kicked and stomped on the former U.S. Army soldier for half an hour and stopped periodically to mop blood off his shoes.
The beating was over the changing of a TV channel while Carter was in jail awaiting sentencing for the aggravated murder of fellow drug trafficker Michael Hadnot.
He spent Monday visiting with his brother, lawyers and two imams, praying and reading the Koran.
Carter also shaved his head and face, took a nap and wrote five letters.
He said he was ‘doing good, happy and smiling’ but declined breakfast on Tuesday.
Carter had been scheduled for execution in 2007.
But he was spared by a lawsuit pending at the time that challenged the lethal injection
"Robert Harris, executed for murder in California in 1992, had a bucket of Kentucky Fried Chicken, two large pizzas, a six-pack of Pepsi, jelly beans and Camel cigarettes." that's what i'm talking about! :joker:
