This is maybe a bit morbid but I wonder if he maybe died.. nobody will ever know unless he is alive and logs in again some day, but it just seemed awful sudden for him to just stop coming online, usually when people decide to leave they stay in contact with the few people they want to keep in contact with via Facebook or whatever, but it seems like he just went and didn't say anything to anyone...

I think thats a bit extreme! far more likely he just decided not to bother here anymore. At least not bother posting or logging in. Once you get into the habit of not posting somewhere its very easy to just carry it on. Especially if he's found another place to hang out.
