Has anyone read this? -shoos Locke and his Bale gifs-

I got up to around page 80 and then gave up. Partly because of how overwhelmingly graphic it is (I personally cannot endure much violence) - the last bit I read described stabbing a vagrant in the eye, popping it out, then disemboweling him - only to then break his dog's legs.

However, this is half of the problem. The other is the narrative's obsession with fashion. Of course this is probably intentional, a satirical attack on the mundanity and futility of fashion & other such pretentious and vapid hobbies. I just found this a little too...repetitive. I got it after the first few chapters, I don't want a detailed account on every single costume change by every single character.

The description of everyones clothes and stuff was annoying. And did you get up to the bit with the rat and the woman?

It's a great book though, but the film is better.

Nope, didn't read that. I loved his off-the-cuff remarks like "Your neighbour's head is in my freezer" though

It is disgusting, he gets some woman in his flat, puts some cheese.. up her, then sends a rat that he caught in his kitchen in to get it.

God knows what was going through the guy who wrote its mind when he was writing that

Is the film as graphic?

No most stuff like that is cut from the film, there's a couple of axe/chainsaw scenes but you don't really see anything happening.
