Josie Gibson has confirmed that she and boyfriend John James Parton have split up.

Gibson, who went on to win the series, confirmed the news on her Twitter page.

"Me & John r on a break," she wrote. "We r going to see if we can work things out. We may, we may not (sic)."

She added: "I will not be tweeting about our relationship again."

They lasted longer than I thought but as all the deals dried up this doesn't surprise me one bit and in fact most JJames haters on the forum only give it a year at the most, it hasn't lasted 9 months really.

I had to giggle when I saw JJ's comments about them being complete opposites..... the words, "Yeah JJ, she's straight and you're not" came to mind.

I guess that their 6 month lease has run out of the flat that they had paid for them...... funny, I said this would happen like this months ago...... soon as they had to pay for somewhere for them to live and pay for it themselves: we'd soon see how real the realationship was. If you saw the documentary in October: when JJ was asked about their relationship - he made comment about seeing where they were financially (that was his first word), and see how they were relationship wise in 6 months. And right on cue.....6 months later - they split.

Oh well..... Josie will be relieved..... given the amount of times she declared herself to be a real randy mare: she'll be able to go out and find someone to finally mount her after all these months of pretence!!!

Josie admitted to throwing a lipstick, a shoe and a coat hanger at her boyfriend, but managed to stop short of throwing a vase. Two of the main points of conflict the splitting couple admit to are John James' reluctance to take Josie out and her consumption of alcohol.

Josie claimed John James was making her out to be a "raging alcoholic" and said she'd only been out five times since the end of 'Big Brother' in August 2010.

Honestly, I'd bet my next 10 years salary that it was nothing more than a major publicity stunt. I could of course be wrong, but I've truly never seen such a more contrived 'relationship' - well: Luke and Becks, KP and this Leonardo.... am sure you'll catch my drift.

I expect they are on at least a years contract with certain magazines, so this will likely be ongoing from the split now, we might get the reunion, then the split again, and so on :joker: Then the inevitable book :sleep: I am sure the relationship was meant to be milked as long as possible to get the flat hunting, talk of marriage, etc; in for the short TV stint which this latest will surely help to promote. Moi, sceptical still :o nope, never :rolleyes: :joker:

The pair found love as contestants in the final series of the Channel 4 reality show last year, but despite their fairytale romance, they have called time on their relationship after 10 months - with her accusing him of being "boring" while he alleges she is "jealous".

In a final interview together before John James heads back to his native Australia, he said it was his decision to leave, telling OK! magazine: "If this was the first time or the first 50 times, that we have reached breaking point I'd agree I should stay and work it out, but it's got to the 180th time. I am too mentally drained."

Josie added: "It was John's decision but I probably pushed him to it. John has said things that have really, really upset me, but my temper is way out of line."

Of course - and it wasn't really projection I don't think: it was more a case of the green eyed monster: there she was, a beautiful girl who could have gone down the media ***** routine - and there was scrawny JJ, the cowardly bully - desperate to be famous. Rachel was too much competition for his intention to come out a make a fast buck or two.

I hate to say it, but I truly don't think either of them do have a conscience. I agree about it not being all younger ones who didn't see through it - the adults (and mothers!) who bought into it too - that stumped me!

In their heartbreaking final interview together, the former lovebird’s exclusively reveal their split.

Shellshocked and shaky, Josie Gibson is perched on the edge of her sofa in the London riverside pad she shared with her boyfriend John James Parton as she tells us, “He’s left me”. When we arrive at the flat, John James is next door, packing his bags for Australia. When he enters the room, Josie stretches out an arm to touch him and he smiles sadly and softly in her direction. You could cut the pain with a knife.
As word of their relationship’s demise begins to filter out from camp JJJ, Josie and John James have arranged, at the last minute, to have OK’s Andrew Fraser over to share the true story of their break up. Our chief feature writer has forged a close friendship with the pair following their stint on Big Brother last year. “I know so much crap is going to be written about this” says Josie. “I think we owe it to everyone to just say it like it is”.
The trouble is, the dust has barely settled on John James’ decision to leave the woman he first met 10 months ago on Big Brother and return to Oz. From where OK is standing, neither John James nor Josie can quite believe it has come to this. Feistiness and fieriness, frequent factors in their passionate relationship, have turned to bitterness and bile. “It’s become nasty”, says Josie. “We can’t carry on like this”, adds John James. It’s a rare moment of agreement.
But when OK sits down to chat with the pair, the conversation soon descends into acrimony. “She’s jealous”, he snipes. “He’s boring”, she grumbles. Weirdly, through all the anger, there are some typically funny and tender moments. Josie and John James clearly still love each other. It just seems that, in their case, love is not enough.

What on earth has happened?
J: I’ve been a cow.
JJ: I was put in a position where there didn’t really seem like there was anything else I could do. Maybe it seems like a rash decision, but I have to go.
J: John told me 2 days ago that he’s had enough and is going.

Will you come back, John?
JJ: Honestly? That depends on Josie. I may never come back.

What brought this to a head?
JJ: We were about to commit to living together for longer. I thought, why are we signing on to do this for another year when we can’t be around each other? The trouble is, our lives are so interlinked because of our careers, so when we fell out, instead of sorting things out in our own time, we were forced to patch things up quickly because we had to go to a premiere together.

Your fans love you as a couple and will be gutted to hear what has happened. Has this made it harder in a way?
JJ: We’re gutted too, but we can’t stay together just because the fans want us too.
J: Some people can’t wait for me and John to break up. But, you know, I’ve got no one to blame for this but myself.

You seem to be taking an awful lot of the rap for this, Josie. Are you being fair on yourself?
J: John has said things which have really, really upset me. But my temper is way out of line, I threw a lipstick at you, didn’t I John?
JJ: And a shoe. And a coat hanger.

JJ: She picked up a vase one time. But thank God she put it back down. I’ve suggested living in London and she can go back to Bristol. She says she will never speak to me again if that happens.

Has JJ come between you now he’s been living with you for a few weeks?
J: [sighs] It was my idea that he moved in. I thought it would be company for him, because John doesn’t really like going out. I mean, you don’t like doing anything, do you John?
JJ: Not really, no. But those problems don’t begin with JJ. When me and Josie were fighting, he was always there. So if I need to get out of the house and have a chat, I could go with him – he was someone to talk to.
J: But you won’t do anything with me, will you, though? He doesn’t like going out.
JJ: That’s the point. She thinks I don’t like doing things with her, but I just don’t like doing things in general. I’m not going to sit here and lie and say I enjoy them. I’m not going to pretend that I want to go on the London Eye with you, because I don’t. I couldn’t care less about views and things like that.

JJ: Look, if she wants to organise stuff like Madame Tussauds, I’m happy to go. But she can’t expect me to be excited about it.

JJ: She is an adventurous person, she wants to go off on hot air balloons and James Bond boat rides down the Thames and I can’t think of anything worse. She wouldn’t want to play football with me any more than I would want to go and do crappy things like that with her.
J: I have been getting more and more bitter that he won’t do those things with me.
JJ: But I wouldn’t want to do that stuff with anyone! I can’t change who I am. I can’t pretend to be excited about stuff like that.
J: But I see you going up the road with JJ and I think, oh, you can go out with him, but you can’t go out with me.
JJ: I only went to KFC and back!
J: Apart from work commitments, John has been out twice since he left the BB house. He hates going out.
JJ: She can go out on 3-day benders. I can’t think of anything wore. She likes going out and getting drunk. She is hanging off the chandeliers. I hate parties.
J: I’m the goose and he’s the pigeon – geese fly for miles but pigeons can’t wait to fly home.

And was JJ the cuckoo?
JJ: He stays out the way, to be fair.
J: No he doesn’t! I got bitter because John spent a lot of his time with JJ and I was getting nothing from John. Nothing. And I was getting angrier and angrier.

You have a beautiful woman here, John – what’s going on with you and JJ?
JJ: It’s not that I don’t want to do things with you, Josie. I’m just not interested in the things you want to do, like hot air ballooning and s**t like that. I can’t be ******ed. I’m not going to sit here and lie. I’d rather sit here and watch films. I don’t want to go out on benders. I’ve been drunk 6 times in my life. J: I’ve been out drinking about 5 times since we came out of BB. You would think I go out every weekend and get obliterated.
JJ: She don’t stop. She will drink till all hours in the morning. And I don’t have a problem with that – she can get drunk every night as long as she doesn’t involve me, but she does. She comes into my room singing Batman songs and flicking the light switch at 4 in the morning. [John sighs] I have been called boring, I reckon, 500 times.
J: A lot of it was me erupting to get his attention.
JJ: There is nothing worse than being in a taxi full of people and I’m sober and she’s off her rocker, going: “You’re like a stale bowl of p***”.
J: [Shoots a withering glance] I wasn’t drunk when I said that, actually.

You both sound so angry; will it be a relief when you are finally parted?
J: I think it will be.
JJ: For me it will be, yeah. When I decided I was going home I though, that’s it. I’ve been umming and ahhing for so long. She’s saying I don’t care, giving it the Charlie Big Potatoes, and you get to thinking, well, maybe that’s it. I’m going. I’ve had enough of being up and down like a yo-yo.

But you still love each other, right?
J: Yes.
JJ: Mmm. I just think going back will give her time to think about how she treats me. I can’t be over here and feel insecure.
J: Maybe if you had given me a bit of attention this wouldn’t be happening. If you had made me feel a bit wanted.
JJ: And when do you make me feel wanted, Josie?
J: I’m not making you feel wanted if you’re not making me feel wanted John.
JJ: And vice versa.

If you ever come back, would you consider going to relationship counselling?
JJ: We would both go for counselling, but I wouldn’t want to be the counsellor. I think he will get something thrown at him. If it’s a bloke she will hurl something at him. And if it is a girl, she will probably think she fancies me.
J: [Shoots him another angry glance] No I wouldn’t.
JJ: You always think that with every girl I speak to.

You don’t have to sit there and go on about how bad I am. My insecurities have pushed you away – I know. But when you have a bloke who doesn’t show you any affection and don’t give you attention, then sometimes you get a bit p***ed off and insecure. [Josie leaves the room]

When do you fly, John?
JJ: Tomorrow.

Are you going to be alright?
JJ: I’ll be fine. You just saw how quickly things blow up. That’s how easy it happens. If she hears something she doesn’t like, she goes ballistic.

As an outsider, it’s clear neither of you will concede any ground...
JJ: We won’t give an inch.

It’s like a power struggle. You both just want to score the point...
JJ: Rather than listen? Yes, it’s true. It’s out of hand now. More often than not she will realise she is not being fair. When she cools down and apologises for what she’s said, I will still argue the point. I will still say, you know I was right about that.

How long are you going to be in Australia for, John?
JJ: If this kind of thing continues when I’m overseas, which it has done in the past, I may never come back. [John looks sad as Josie enters the room]

Do you still think John’s The One, Josie?
J: I’d like to think it. But we just fight all the time.

JJ: Not if she behaves like this, no.
J: How am I meant to cope John, sitting there listening to you saying how bad I am for ages?

On a scale of 1 to 10, what are the chances of you two being a couple this time next year?

JJ: Yes, because John don’t mess about when it comes to having girlfriends. He meets girls really quickly. But if he meets someone and they make him happy, then you can’t say fairer than that.

When was the last time you felt really happy together?
JJ: Big Brother?

If you don’t come back, will you leave the celebrity lifestyle behind you, John?
JJ: Yes, definitely, I’m not interested. It’s nice to know that some people genuinely care about what I do with my life, but it’s not the be all and end all for me. It’s not an issue for me to be famous, it never has been.

How will you feel is John never come back, Josie?
J: Gutted really, heartbroken. But then again, he can’t come back to this, can he?

So are you teaching her a lesson, John?
JJ: In a way I am, yes. I am not going to lie about that.
J: It’s a really harsh lesson John, leaving me on my own. You didn’t have to go this far.
JJ: I didn’t want this.
J: I’ve learned my lesson, can you not just stay?
JJ: If I didn’t go, she would just carry on the way she has.
J: [Laughs] I won’t. I’m not going to moan about anything ever again.

So will you stay here in the flat with JJ then Josie?
J: [Raises an eyebrow] No.
JJ: That would be interesting.

Where’s he going?
J: Peterborough. John’s given him his car. He’s got a nice £16k motor, so he’ll be okay. You have taught me your lesson John. Now, can you just unpack your bags! Please!
JJ: She’s already told me if I go back she is going to be really bitter towards me. But there is no way she will stop me now. It has lifted so much tension off me knowing I’m leaving.
J: So he’s left me stuck in the tension instead.

[B]Maybe you will be better apart, Josie?
J: Yes, that might be the case.
JJ: And that’s why I’m taking my stuff. Because she might get bitter with me...
J: I will not chuck all your stuff in the Thames, John. I can’t believe you think that of me.

What could you change about yourselves to make this relationship work?
J: [Looks at John] Stop being a ******? [shrieks with laughter]
JJ: We wrote out a contract of things to change and she didn’t stick to any of hers.
J: I did. I stopped p***ing with the door open.
JJ: That was the only thing.

At least it wasn’t a number two, Josie...
J: Exactly. I would never have done a number two with the door open. I’m ladylike. I’m worried he is going to Australia and I am going to be left here trying to sort everything out.
JJ: You deserve it. I honestly believe she deserves everything that has happened to her and me going back to Australia. I do feel sorry for her. But how much am I expected to take?

Do you think absence will make the heart grow fonder?
JJ: It could go either way. Which is why I’m taking all my stuff with me. I just want to see my mum and my mates now.
What will you do now, Josie?
J: I need to find a home. Then I’ll probably go out and buy a dog and call it John James. And it will never leave me. Because I will train it not to.

I had to giggle when I saw JJ's comments about them being complete opposites..... the words, "Yeah JJ, she's straight and you're not" came to mind.

I guess that their 6 month lease has run out of the flat that they had paid for them...... funny, I said this would happen like this months ago...... soon as they had to pay for somewhere for them to live and pay for it themselves: we'd soon see how real the realationship was. If you saw the documentary in October: when JJ was asked about their relationship - he made comment about seeing where they were financially (that was his first word), and see how they were relationship wise in 6 months. And right on cue.....6 months later - they split.

Oh well..... Josie will be relieved..... given the amount of times she declared herself to be a real randy mare: she'll be able to go out and find someone to finally mount her after all these months of pretence!!!

One after thought after reading the tweets sent by channel 5. I would be really disappointed if they have done this for publicity for their show. If sitting there and being nasty, bitchy and horrible to each other for a TV show is the way they have gone then for me that makes then ‘actors’. But after reading them tweets I can’t help but feel that John will come back and we get them meeting back up at the airport all embracing for the happy ending! It would look too staged and planned then. I hope if anything they talk on SKYPE and the phone and arrange to meet up in Australia. The programme can then end with Josie going over to Australia to sort things out with him. And the last shot we get is the plane flying into the sky but I think even that would looked contrived.


Yes....this is what's been posted on DS. Can you believe it: plans being hatched as to how their TV documentary/prog should pan out..... honest to God: there truly is some deluded sods out there. (along with 'plans that they could meet up somewhere half way, like Thailand, see if they can work it out).

:p But I'd say there is genuine emotion and anger in the interview I posted. If it was faked I can't see why two people in a cold business-relationship would allow themselves to appear in a magazine and allow themselves to say such personal and potentially damaging things about each other. I really don't see that happening.

lol no. :shocked: I get the reasons though that the format of Big Brother led to some obsessional fan devotion (and hatred on the other side): viewers able to watch HMs 24 hours a day for 3 months, personally identifying with certain housemates, voting format encourages supporting a housemate etc.

And, this is a generalisation I know, but, a lot of women like romantic storylines.

James, I think you are brand new - I do. but let's look at this another way: if you were in a fake relationship, with a person that you had no common bond with other than a fake publicity romance - when they hacked you off no end, when you had to put up with all their annoyances and couldn't say anything because you were liviing a lie: I think it's natural that now, all that pent up frustration would surface. I don't think it can be soley attributed to emotions showing because they were in love: it could be true emotions showing now that they don't have to pretend.

As for saying potentially damaging things about each other - they weren't in a romantic relatioinship for them to care about the other one - then or now, so showing their true feelings for each other now is simply that - taking the masks off.

But then they would just received message from the fans (and some haters) literally demanding an explanation. If you go on Twitter there are thousands of 'JJJ' fans there.

The other factor I think is that these two are generally honest and genuine people and wouldn't have time for major fake media stuff. John especially made a big issue about people being genuine so I can't see him contradicting himself with that regard. He is meant to be quite wealthy too so doesn't have much to gain from it.

Obviously if you didn't like them as housemates or supported someone else you'd be inclined to take a different view on it.

Exactly. I know that John approached several girls in the house before he settled for Josie and as you say the timing with the new arrivals changed the dynamic. Lying under a duvet for the majority of time - Mics off - unable to hear the truth. Nadia points out how it looked and John was having a good time outside and suddenly Josie ponders on her cash cow - knows she wont win UBB and scarpers.

The Big Brother winner told fans on Twitter this morning that the couple are not currently together but that they are "going to see if we can work things out".

However, reacting to confusion about the situation between the pair, Gibson later tweeted: "We didn't sell a split up story!!! We r together!! (sic)"
