If thats the genuine Daily Star story then .... :laugh2: I know they talk crap but thats just taking the p*ss
As if Cheryl would ditch a show with 20m viewers and a constant media presence in favour of one that people stopped watching about 5 years ago and gets about 10% of the audience

just thought its 1st april so probs a joke lol
Even if she doesnt get US X Factor she'll just stay on ours, and no way will she quit one of the most watched shows for one of the least watched on terrestrial TV. Plus shes a rubbish presenter anyway
April 1st is on Friday btw so its not an April Fools, although on that day maybe Daily Star will print something with some truth in for one day a year
just thought its 1st april so probs a joke lol
No, it isn't ..... :nono:
Just a thought, maybe they've got Kimberley Walsh to host it but they're just trying to drum up a bit of publicity by using the most famous Girls Aloud member
or maybe Jennifer from BB9
Article up on site now - http://www.dailystar.co.uk/news/view/183855/CHERYL-COLE-S-NEW-BIG-BROTHER-BABE/ - saying she might host a new Big Brother, highly doubt it
FED-UP Cheryl Cole could sensationally snub X Factor supremo Simon Cowell by accepting a £5million deal to host a new-look Big Brother.
Geordie babe Cheryl Cole is wanted for the role made famous by Davina McCall when the show returns later this year.
Simon Cowell’s decision to tease Cheryl by delaying the decision to name the judges on US X Factor could well backfire. BB bosses have confirmed: “We want Cheryl.”
Insiders claim Simon, 51, will be “absolutely furious” to learn rivals are planning to cheekily steal his brightest star from under his nose.
TV insiders claimed a major deal signalling Big Brother’s return was close to being agreed.
The revamped show is likely to kick off with a celebrity series, foll-owed by a run starring members of the public.
Programme chiefs are keen to att-ract a new young host with “major viewer appeal” to replace Davina.
Ultimate Big Brother champ Brian Dowling, 32, is also in the frame for the presenting job. But sources revealed 27-year-old Cheryl is the show bosses’ No1 target for the most exciting job on UK telly.
A TV insider said: “It really is true. Big Brother looks certain to return... bigger, brighter and more shocking than ever before.
“As part of that deal we want to get a really big name involved as the host and they don’t come any bigger than Cheryl.
“We’re confident she can be tempted away from Simon with the offer of fronting the most-talked about show of the year. There is going to be a real buzz around Big Brother and we’re confident she will want to be part of that deal.”
Insiders claimed the X Factor judge might be tempted to turn her back on Simon because she’d grown “tired and frustrated” at the delay in waiting to hear if she’d landed a judging role on the new US version of the show.
“Simon has teased everyone, including Cheryl, by delaying his announcement about the judges,” said one show source.
“It is now being delayed until the end of April. It would serve him right if Cheryl got fed up.
“It would be a major coup for the Big Brother show to land Cheryl and programme chiefs have been told to do all in their power to land her, whatever it takes.”
Rumours that BB would return to Brit screens have been rife since Channel 4 axed it last year.
The new-look show will give fans power to decide the day-to-day fate of the housemates. One plan would see viewers deciding which stars go into the famous house for the celebrity version.
Names in the frame include Top Gear’s Jeremy Clarkson, 50, model Kate Price, 32, shamed football pundit Andy Gray, 55, comic David Walliams, 39, and Kerry Katona, 30.
Davina has already ruled herself out of presenting any new version of the show. After 26-year-old Bristol babe Josie Gibson won the 11th series last summer, Davina, 43, said: “Any channel that picks up BB would be a very lucky channel. But I think I’ve said goodbye.”
Davina hosted the series for its entire 10-year run, which showed housemates’ tears, tantrums, love affairs, break-ups, punch-ups and its infamous racism row.
It received more complaints to watchdogs Ofcom than any other UK show, 57,000 in total – 40,000 of which were prompted by Jade Goody’s verbal attack on Shilpa Shetty, 35, in 2007’s Celebrity BB.
But it remained gripping TV and, at the show’s peak, the traditional Friday night evictions attracted up to 10million viewers.
Big Brother, which originated in Holland, is named after George Orwell’s 1949 novel Nineteen Eighty-Four, in which Big Brother can spy on the inhabitants of the dictatorship he heads through their TV sets, with the slogan “Big Brother is watching you.”
BB turned the public into stars – notably Jade, Kate Lawler, 30, and Chantelle Houghton, 27, while Celebrity BB champs included comic Jack Dee, 49, Take That’s Mark Owen, 39, TV host Ulrika Jonsson, 43 and Jordan’s ex-Alex Reid, 35.

Oh for goodness sake, there's just no getting rid of her on TV, at least surely she won't get a chance to try to sing on BB.
Wouldn't be surprised to find out their 'tv insider' is Jacob. Has anything they've printed ever come close to being true? Still it's keeping BB in the news.

I have always wanted Emma Willis to host the new BB when it happens.
However.. someone like Jeremy Clarkson might not be a bad idea. But people like him slag off the show so maybe there is no point. Jonathan Ross would be a good host. Someone well known in this country taking over from Davina could bring in a hefty amount of viewers. Apparently Dawn French is a massive fan of the show!!
Don't want any old bugger just grabbing the job who actually has no interest in the show :nono:
No.. no Katie Price or Kerry Katona or any cheap tack hosting BB12. Or Chezza Cole.
It has to be someone with a strong personality.. Like Davina.

It's probably the Daily Star-Channel 5 owners trying to drum up some publicity for Big Brother's return by linking the show to Cheryl Cole. I do actually think it will be back on Channel 5 though.

to be honest i think that someone previously associated with bb or completely new would be better so bb will be theres rather than someone already famous who may be liked/hated. bb kind of made davina so i think bb should still make someone not use someone already used or it will just become completely tacky

Holly Willoughby should do it, shes a big enough name without being unrealistic and she loves the programme
But with Daily Star rumouring Cheryl Cole its only setting new BB up for a fall because there aren't really many bigger names than Cheryl and so when they finally announce Kate Walsh or Brian Dowling there is going to be a big backlash.

While I'm glad that BB has made the paper and the front page no less, the thought of Cheryl Cole hosting makes my stomach turn. Can you imagine her talking to the house. Ive got nothing against accents but my god.

I think they'll strugle to find someone. Davina made it look easy but it must be one of the hardest presenting jobs on TV. Thery'll need someone more experienced than Brian Dowling or Kate Walsh - as much as I like both.

I wouldnt mind Brian hosting.
If they go with someone like Josie or Brian it might get a few more viewers at the start but be panned by the critics if they plan on having a run similar to C4 they should go with someone they think is actually capable. Brian could do it but he'd need to be a co host imo. I'd choose Emma Willis if it was upto me!

Brian has 1,000's of hours of TV presenting behind him on many different types of show. Seriously, it would be difficult to find someone more experienced at presenting TV than him .
He's also rumoured to be in the running for Xtra Factor though. Don't know which I'd prefer him to do.

People don't know just how hard it would be to host a show like Big Brother. You need to be able to love it to some degree. Lets be honest, most of the time the discussions revolve around petty sh*t and you need to learn how to look interested too.
I don't think it will come back still. I still have to see some good reasons as to why it should be brought back too.

Yes it is. It's extremely hard.
My prediction:
It will come back. It will be a car crash. It will be a ratings flop. It will disappear. For good.

He's also rumoured to be in the running for Xtra Factor though. Don't know which I'd prefer him to do.
He hasn't the type of experience. I loved Brian in BB2 and UBB and wanted him to win both times. I was pleased for his success in presenting after, but his "thousands of hours of presenting" has only been for a kids show and filling in for regular presenters, plus voice-overs. He isn't Davina standard.
And I remember him bursting into tears when bully Jim Davidson called him a shirtlifter. I don't think he'd cope with the live shows.
Sorry.
Yes it is. It's extremely hard.
Make a show reel and send it into a few obscure satellite channels, you'll get work.
Off the back of Big Brother, he got similar types of work and his biggest shows have been SMTV Live (which went downhill whilst he was the host) and guest presenting on Live at Studio Five.
He's been around for 10 years, if he was ever going to make it as a presenter he would have done it long before now. If you don't make the jump from digital/kids TV to prime time within 3-4 years then you'll never make it.
Its obvious they're going for a female presenter, and on the off chance they have a male presenter I think it will be Matt from OKTV/This Morning.
My prediction:
It will come back. It will be a car crash. It will be a ratings flop. It will disappear. For good.
You could be right ..... ;)

I think Holly Wilabooby would be good too. However she is already on This Morning. Could get annoying for the viewers if they always see Holly on our screens.
