There was a massive poster in the window of some Irish record store,I said '**** sake' quite loudly. God knows why she has an album.

It's all over the place, like every CD advertised lately its supposed the be the ideal gift for Mother's Day.My Mum wouldn't like the vast majority of these so called perfect CDs for Mothers Day.

I blame the parents!

I had no idea Mary had an album out. Good luck to her!

I don't understand the 'Irish can't vote' argument. There are lots of Irish people living in England, Scotland and Wales - or have Irish roots that would support Mary. Also Scottish viewers would support her as a 'fellow celt'.

Must be a nightmare to listen to - shouting every track on the album.

You can't be blaming us Irish, I'm Irish and I can't stand her. Loads of the people in the UK probably voted too. She was in Number 1 in the Tesco chart today(of course),I put Take That over her.

Ah but business wise they're raking it in, expected to earn around £3 million this year between them due to modelling, TV advertisements, their music commitments/concerts and the Eurovision campaign.. Louis is playing it smart with them and I actually think they're smarter than they appear and play the dumb card;).

Their managers must be loving it and when you've got a talented X-Factor winer like Joe McElderry, despite being a little bit bland IMO struggling to have any success and then you've got the runner up Olly doing well, plus Stacey popping up occassionally then something has gone wrong for Cowell and co!:D

To be fair ... after the X Factor has finished the winner and the runners up have an equal playing field of the charts and record sales. It depends on their fanbases supporting them and how good their records are.

It will be interesting to see who sells better - Matt Cardle, last year's winner or One Direction and Cher Lloyd who have a more contemporary sound and image. Lloyd is already experimenting with different looks whilst Matt will always be the nice bloke in the cap.

its already dropped to 12 midweeks. It sold 34,000(and hawked on QVC) which isn't great tbh considering XF viewing figures. Expect it to plummet into the abyss now that Mothers day has gone.

Oh and these stories about these XF runners up earning millions are absolute rubbish. Mary was another said to be set for millions but...

so far she's earned just £7000 since XF ended and has been living off her savings! She won't make much from the album because I doubt the overall sales will be great. Its an album of covers so all publishing royalties go elsewhere. She'll be dropped before the end of the year, I predict.

I think she'll get another album, to have got a top 10 album is not bad.also she didn't sink without trace this week at 15, still ni the top 20,some people never get a top 20 album never mind a top 10 one.

I can see another one album at least and maybe a 3rd too.

No.

chart positions are not important. Its overall sales that determine whether a record company bother with you.

This album is sinking fast and its not like she'll release a hit single that will get it back up there. Or have another Mothers day to take advantage of this year. Selling on QVC is always a desperate move(Louis did it with Westlifes last album as well).

she'll be dropped for sure.

yeah he's probably already thinking about next years Mothers day!

he's nothing if not strategic. Which is, of course, why Westlife managed to get so many number one records; he released on weeks that had weak opposition back in the days when each week had a new entry in at number one.
