Tax rebates.

Any clever people around?

Last year I worked for three weeks in the summer and six weeks in the winter, I payed emergency tax for every week I worked.

When I re signed on in january I was told a rebate would be sent out automatically from the job centre.

Can someone confirm this and maybe explain when it will be sent?

Anytime over the next few weeks.

UK tax year runs from 6 apr one year till 5 Apr the next, they cant start processing your rebate until they know the full amount of income you earned over the whole of the tax year.

They will start processing rebates for 2010-2011 today, so you should receive a cheque whenever your tax has been assessed and processed. if however you are currently working and getting paid, you could recieve the rebate in your next or subsequent wage.
