C4 Still own the rights to Big Brother 1-Ultimate, they can always keep the website up, as it is copyrighted to them, however they cannot get involved with the C5 Series at all.

What complete and utter rubbish.

All Endemol or Channel 5 have the right to is to ask Channel 4 to remove the word official in the descriptions "the official home of Big Brother".

However Channel 4 could simply edit that to read "the official home of Big Brother series 1-11"

The contract they had with Endemol will have given them rights "in perpetua" over the content of series 1-11 and the CBB they aired. Those rights cant be removed simply because rights to air have been agreed with another TV station for new programs. (Note I use the term rights to air, but this would also include subsequent web broadcasts, spin offs and other related rights).

You will not see parts of past channel four BB programs being aired on Channel 5 without credits to Channel 4 and probably payments to C4 as well.

The channel four BB website is a part of the channel four website and whilst Endemol/C5 could ask C4 to take it down. Just like chances are the channel 5 BB site will be part of the C5 site.

There would have to be a clause in the past contracts between C4 and Endemol whereby Endemol could insist, thats highly unlikely after all Channel 4 are a business, they would want to make profit from their programs as long as people were willing to pay. They were after all buying full rights to the program.

If there was no such clause, there is no court in the UK that would rule against Channel 4. They have legal ownership of the programs they aired. The chances of there being such a clause are minimal as Endemol expected to stay with C4.
