What do the following have in common?
A gay barman who enjoys six in the bed; a knitter, a mum and a bagpipe player; two experts at doing the splits; an ex-head boy; a Sloane Ranger; a nude model for 3,000 bikers.
A former Miss Wales; a friend of Prince Harry; a hamster lover who’s made a home for his pet in the walls of his own house; a believer in Indian spirituality; an underwear freak who claims to have spent £1,000 on lingerie in a single shopping trip.
And Davina McCall.
The answer is of course that by about 9.05 tonight we will be completely sick of all of them as Big Brother 7 kicks off to news in the Star that all 12 inmates are “nutters”.
Not sadly genuine Jeffrey Dahmer-type ‘chop up my fellow housemates and eat them’ nutters, but “I’m mad, me” Capital Radio DJ-type nutters.
And the Star can’t wait.
“This fantastic show,” it says, “has given us some of TV’s greatest characters – Jade, Nasty Nick, Nadia, Paul and Helen.
“And it has provided us with some of TV’s most astonishing moments such as Kinga’s wine bottle antics.”
As well as new ways for the country’s students and self-employed to pass the day – trying to lip-read the chickens during the regular breaks in “live” coverage.
