X Factor USA is to be fronted by two hosts, it has been revealed.

FremantleMedia North America CEO Cecile Frot-Coutaz confirmed that the Fox reality singing show will have a pair of presenters in an attempt to distinguish itself from American Idol.

"Our job is to make sure the two shows are as distinct as possible," Frot-Coutaz told The Hollywood Reporter. "For example - we're making sure there are two entirely different teams with no overlap in terms of individuals who are working on both shows.

"From a format and tonal standpoint, they're very different. In terms of casting the judges, again, we're making sure the looks are different. And I can reveal that we'll have two hosts on The X Factor."

X Factor's executive producer Rob Wade recently admitted to Digital Spy that "the pendulum might be swinging more towards" having two hosts, echoing earlier comments from show judge Simon Cowell.

There has been much speculation concerning who will land a presenting role on the reality programme, with names such as Enrique Iglesias, Nicole Scherzinger and British TV personality Steve Jones all linked with the position.

Auditions for X Factor USA began in Los Angeles on March 27 and continue at Bank United Centre in Miami (April 7), Prudential Centre in Newark (April 14), Key Arena in Seattle (April 20), the Sears Centre Arena in Chicago (April 27) and Dallas Convention Centre, Dallas (May 26).

It would be a waste to see Nichole hosting when she should be a judge.
Steve Jones. How will Americans understand his accent?
