They got rid of them for BB11 but do you think they should return for BB12?
Or sorry, CBB8?

God I hate that, not being able to say BB12 because ******ing Celebrity BB is in the way.

Anyway, do you think C5 would be the type of people to even think of doing countdowns?

I don't know if I give them enough credit, I keep thinking they're going to be terrible and just fail at everything but I don't know.

If they do bring back the countdowns, they should seriously bring back the girl voice rather than Marcus Bentley!

Does anyone know what the deal was with this Big Brother 6 Countdown?

I mean no BB Series had ever gotten a countdown unless it was 10 Days.
Why did C4 randomly give '18 Days' out for BB6?

Did a '17 Days' follow?
Or did it just stop?

Stunning quality for 2005.

Yeah, they should. They really need a lot of countdown adverts, and also a lot of advertising across Britain a bit like Channel 4 did with the whole "R.EYE.P" billboards, because people need to know it's back to tune in! Sure, the Daily Star can have it in their newspaper but it's not enough! :nono: they need loads of advertising so EVERYONE knows that BIG BROTHER is BACK! :elephant::dance::devil:

Seriously though, I hope they do.
No doubt Channel 5's countdown adverts will be made on Windows Movie Maker though, and it will just be a black '7' in the middle of the screen on a blue background. :bawling:

If they have billboards they need to go to Ireland, Scotland, Northern Ireland, Wales aswell as England.

It's not enough and very ******ing ignorant to just advertise in England when there's fans in other parts of the UK.

And even saying that - it's only London, as usual usually that gets the big billboards.

They need to have alot.

Countdowns! Definitely! Billboards! The works! We'll see if Channel 5 are really gonna pull this out of the bag and make it work :)

You make it sound like 2005 was 50 years ago. lol

I loved the voiceovers in the BB6 ones. The whispery ones in the countdown and the BB slogans in the trailer. Thought that was very good.

But graphics wise BB7 adverts were the best.

Don't know about Scotland but there were billboards in Cardiff (Wales) last year. NI and ROI probably weren't covered because it would mean going through two agencies.

In answer to your original question, I'm gonna go against the grain and say no, as much as I loved BB's campaigns on Channel 4, they weren't working. Word of mouth, as CBB7 shows, is the best promotional tool, so viral adverts might be an idea. I like the whole resurrection idea, BB breaking out from the grave and avenging his death by locking up a new set of housemates :).

(Anyway, weren't they made by C4? I know the trailers for BBC shows are made by the Beeb rather than the indies that make them. If so they are going to feel different if they do them or not)

I would like to see little break bumpers and eye flashes etc. But I do want a more creative ad campaign.

Im pretty sure they went right down to 0. I remember seeing the adverts on TV before the launch. I actually remember seeing a 16 day one on youtube, but none under that number.

And I know what you mean about the quality. Its almost HD:spin:

They had a few billboards in Glasgow.
