But apparently not if they wasted loads of it being the prize of £500,000.
It's a bit of a waste, don't you think?
I think they have got massive budgets for this.
Looking for a good series!

I dunno where the hell the money would come from. A couple of months back it seemed like Endemol needed too much money off Five.

Not at all, the more the better! Although its good for the winner, it could of been better if it was £300,000 and spent another £200,000 on the series :)

Well, judging by when they're planning to air it Big Brother is going to fill the entire schedule for about a year with a gazillion series one after the other so their entire budget can be blown on it. lol

Consideringthe fact they will probably be using the same house layout for three series I am expecting they want to invest more on it to make it grander and bigger than ever before to make up for the lack of renovations.

I am thinking of a heated swimming pool outside this time.
Cameras under the water too. Think they did this on a series but the cameras were hardly shown! lol

I remember they had the cameras in BB6 and 7, would have been fun to view what actually happened with Makosi and Anthony. :p

They only had an underwater camera in BB7.

They had a Camera in the BB6 Bedroom that could see under the sheets, I bet that cost ALOT.
Only thing was it went to complete and utter waste when Maxwell and Saskia were doing it, they didn't show us anything other than Subtitles.
And Sam from BB6 said she fingered herself alot under the covers at night, and the ******ing cameras didn't show this either.

Here's hoping. That was a stroke of genius. Shame they didn't carry it through to other seasons. :bored:

They tried it in the final 2 weeks of Big Brother 10, but it failed so epicly.

The upping of the prize fund is necessary, £100k is pittance and the reason none of the housemates cared either way if they won. Other reality shows' prize funds were starting to make BB's look like a joke in recent years.

Yes, though not in the same way, BB5's prize fund counted down when Kitten refused to leave and reduced further when they failed tasks; the housemates had to do Saturday(?) fun to watch mini tasks in the diary room on the plasma to win back what was lost and to provide highlights for the quieter weekend shows, BB10's was reduced to 0 and the housemates had to do crap mini tasks in the final week (not on the plasma I don't think, can't remember) or two to restore it (but none of them cared, as during BB5 the £100k prize fund was new and a novelty as part of the show's shake up that year, by BB10 it was almost considered worthless considering the amount earned from mag deals).

Infrared camera just picks up ranges in heat, hardly a HQ image of that chav digging herself out.

A crappy glass square for Dancing on Ice.
A glitter ball made by pre school children for Strictly.
A wooden stick and a grass crown for I'm a Celeb.
A so-called "million pound" contract for X Factor that has so many terms and conditions, the winner never sees anywhere near that amount before they're tossed on the scrap heap if they fail to get repeated number 1's.
Give me £100,000 any day.
It'd be better if they prize fund was like £250,000 and they spent the other £250,000 on making the house, twists, and celebrities excellent!

and celebrities excellent!
We all know it's this expenditure which is never worth the money. How much did they spend so we could watch that Shameless actress chew her toenails? Or to hear Michelle Heaton sing? Urgh.

Celebrity reality shows don't have cash prizes because it's assumed by the public that celebrities are all heavily moneyed and most those listed are talent shows. I was pointing out that internationally reality show prizes are generally considerably higher than in the UK, even in countries with considerably smaller economies. £100k is 3 years wages (for some, much less than that), it won't even by you a decent house these days.
I'm not saying the contestants deserve a big prize, I'm saying it may motivate them not to walk / to try and win compared to a measly £100k.

I was just watching BB3 earlier this morning and PJ said 'Just think, one of us will be walking away from here in 9 Weeks with 75 Thousand Pounds... God, Imagine that!' and everyone was like 'Woah!'
Like they were so excited for 75 Thousand.
:joker:
Now it's 500 Thousand.
As Glyn Wise said the other day; 'Winner of next BB Gets Quarter of a Million Pounds! Spending a whole summer trapped in a house full of idiots seems rather pointless now!'
