Comedians have named Frankie Boyle the nation's most offensive stand-up.

Frankie, who has caused a storm with jokes about Katie Price's disabled son Harvey on his Channel 4 sketch show, came top in a study carried out with over 100 British-based stand-up acts.

The Scottish star of TV series Tramadol Nights was followed by US-born comic and magician Jerry Sadowitz, Jim Davidson and Roy Chubby Brown in the list.

Finally, recognition by his peers ..... :joker:

Sadowitz and Chubby Brown are much more offensive. -assumes 'comedians' asked were boring ones like Russell Howard and Jack Dee-

I dunno Shaun.. I'm fairly broad minded and it does take a LOT to offend me, but I went to see Frankie as he really makes me laugh on telly. However, seeing him live really put me off him.. He was so offensive, I felt he lost the whole audience and seemed to almost retaliate by becoming even nastier.. The whole atmosphere by the end of the show felt near enough hostile!

He touched on things that even Chubby/Sadowitz wouldn't tell jokes about :nono:

I dunno, with Boyle it's all kinda predictable. It's like he's just reading off from Sickipedia, whereas with the others they're more sporadic and I guess insane with their humour.

The likes of Chubby Brown and Bernard Manning are far worse because they believe in what they are saying. Boyle doesn't honestly go around kicking retarded kids in the teeth in real life. He just uses them as joke fodder because his a really **** comedian.

I think Frankie needs a show like mock the week, were there are other comedians there to water down his act a bit, its as if he tries too hard to be shocking when he's on his own and it's not working lots of people hate him now, I'm not too keen on him anymore either, yet when he was on mock the week I thought he was hilarious.

I expect Boyle will stick to a niche audience from now on like Stewart Lee did after the mainstream attention Jerry Springer: the Opera received caused such a shitstorm (albeit one largely manufactured by professional **** Stephen Green of Christian Voice).

Good on him if so. He is too good for the brainless mass of dull nonentities (who will complain about any little thing) that comprise the mainstream comedy audience. They probably think Patrick Kielty and Jimmy Carr register as black comedy.
