No. It's a banal rehash of a series of overhyped teen slasher films. The TiBB obsession with it has intentionally put me off seeing it.

It got average reviews - not terrible - but christ. You'd swear by looking around here that a Citizen Kane sequel was showing.

It's the worst kind of Hollywood trickery. A dreary cash in on a popular franchise in lieu of a fresh creative idea. The cinematic equivalent of throwing a 90's night that only your least favourite co-workers show up to and you're stood there slugging back Carling dressed as Ginger Spice trying to bum a fag off someone.

I was 8yrs olod when Scream came out. It is my favourite horror film because its the first one I watched. It terrified me.

I've seen Scream 4 3 times now, and its my favourite film of the franchise. In terms of gore it miles ahead of the first three put together.

If you like a slasher flick then Scream 4 is right up your street.

It really annoys me when someone calls Scream, Scream 1.
It wasn't called Scream 1 its Scream.

Yes, and I loved it. I'm not really sure what the reviewers were expecting, it's a sequel so it's obviously going to pale in comparison to the very first film, but it was a huge improvement on the 2nd and 3rd films so I'm not really sure why it's being dubbed 'average' - guess it depends what you're looking for in a film. I really enjoyed it, I thought the cast were excellent and the story was put together well and the magic of the first film shone through in the fourth one too.

Yeah and it was alot better than Number 3.

Got alot of comedy moments in there, I don't really see how the ending opens up for Scream 5 but we shall see.

I just want them to make it scary again, this wasn't scary at all.

The characters weren't that good, I mean that dick head that branded himself 'The New Randy'; I mean come on, that's an insult to Jamie Kennedy.

There were some hot girls in it, and I loved how it got all modernized like they use an iPod App as the voice changer LOL.
The beginings were funny aswell, It's a shame the 'It's for you...' girl wasn't a main star lol.

But yeah I liked it, not as good as Scream 1 or Scream 2 but still epic.
7/10

CANT WAIT FOR THE DVD!

That's like calling BB1 - Big Brother.

People have no idea what you're on about because there's more than one.

Oh yeah the gore was Immense, When that really hot girl with the yellow bra got slaughtered in her room and her insides were lieing on the bed.

Epic win for Ghost Face.

YES! 3 times now lol! I'll wait for the DVD now. Loved it. The plot was very clever and challenged your expectations about the similarities with the first film. Won't spoil the ending but IMO it was the best ending of all 4 movies. It was the goriest, still quite scary and definately funny. Really want Scream 5 and 6 now.

Saw it that day after it came out and its very unlikely for me to ever go to the cinema without it being an Orange Wednesday.
Obviously, my opinion will be biased but I took 3 friends new to the series and they all loved it and have gone back and watched the others.
If you're a big fan it was perfect. They didn't get anything wrong.

You mean he watched a film years after it came out and liked it. Wow. Shock horror.

I've watched films from the 70s and 80s which I like yet I wasn't even born then so what's your point?

Having the old cast really helped IMO. If they weren't there I would've just thought it was a cheesy spin off or something

I think that's one of the many good things about it. It's how the old cast and the new cast interact. And...

How you're expecting this film to be about passing on the baton but instead have all the new kids dying (or at least imply their dead). I can imagine Kirby coming back and there being an in-joke about bringing back dead fan favourites to counter the reactions to Randy dying in Scream 2

i actually felt sorry for Olivia when she was being butchered, i also felt sorry for Jenny Randall when she was trying to crawl away from Ghostface

I'm not even kidding; when Sidney was stabbed I actually yelled 'NO!!' all over the place.

Did anyone else think she was literally dead?
I don't think Neve will return for S5 tbh, I mean it was a challenge just to get her onboard with this, So this would of been a good time to kill her off but oh well.

There's an interview somewhere online where she says she'd love to do it again if they decided to make more.
