Noel Gallagher has seemingly confirmed the release dates of his debut solo album and accompanying single.
The ex-Oasis guitarist appeared to launch a new Twitter account yesterday under the name NoelGDGallagher, though the account is yet to be verified.
A series of posts today claimed: "For clarification this is Noel's official Twitter which will be handled by both his management and himself from time to time.
"So we can finally announce details about Noel's solo release... Single release date: 22.08.2011. Album release date: 12.09.2011."
However, Brazilian Oasis fansite Oasisnews has cast doubt on the authenticity of the message, posting on Twitter: "'That isn't Noel's Twitter account - he doesn't have one!', says his staff."
Last month, an alleged tracklisting for Gallagher's first post-Oasis album appeared online.
Since Oasis' split, Gallagher's brother and former bandmate Liam formed Beady Eye with the other members of the group's final lineup.
They released debut album Different Gear, Still Speeding in March and have suggested the release of a follow-up before the end of the year.
