Which are you looking forward to most?

The Celeb Series (August)
The Normal Series (September onwards)

Definitely September on for me, not a massive fan of Celeb BB's but I'll watch anyway. I'll like watching the normal series more.

I prefer the normal series so I'm more looking forward to that but I watch the celeb one too.

Am liking the idea of BB at a different time of year so mostly the normal series - have traditionally preferred the celebrity versions but with Channel 5 I'm pretty nonchalant about the potential.

Neither. I think it'll flop SO hard it'll be embarrassing.

I have returned.

Yes well I'm 100% against Celebrity Big Brother.
I find it dull, I think it's boring and the only person they have ever gotten in the house that's been 'well known' amongst the younger relevant future generation of BB viewers - is Jonas Alterberg last year.

Other than that it's just 50 Year old Hollywood Actors that no one over here knows, year after year.

Big Brother belongs to Summer, I cannot stress enough how much the idea of bringing BB back for some big comeback - and then having CBB be the thing to kick that off, repulses me.

The Daily Star and just about everything else that's mentioned BB, have been hyping up 'Big Brother 12's Return!'.

Okay maybe not Big Brother 12, that's what the fans call it - but the media have certainly been ignoring or oblivious to the fact a CBB8 series is even beginning, If I didn't visit TiBB and was just the typical person who seen a newspaper front page, I'd think Big Brother not Celebrity Big Brother was coming on in Summer.

The worst part is the house will be all decorated for celebrities, not Big Brother.

The eye will most likely be the exact same logo used for CBB8 as for BB12, just like UBB and BB11 had the same eye.

Infact, I wouldn't be surprised if CBB9 in January uses the same logo aswell - lazy bastards.

And probably the worst part of all;
Celebrity Big Brother 8's 'Big Finale' will completely and utterly over shadow the return of the country's best Reality TV Show because they will conclude and launch on the same night - everyone will be tuning in to see some Footballer's Wife win CBB8 and not to celebrate the return of Big Brother, like it should be.

That my friends, is a disgrace.

BB IS ALIVE

Most people want "normal" bb to go back to its summer slot straight away. But this is channel 5!!! It will most likely be the biggest show ever on their channel and quality aside, more people have tended to watch cbb than the public one in recent years.......

And quite frankly i dont think the BB franchise could survive for another 2 years on c5 without cbb.....

1) Returned? From where?

2) Ironic considering Jonas was one of the very few housemates last year who I didn't know. I was familiar with his song when it was played but didn't know who the heck he was.

3) 50 Year Old Hollywood actors? Um, Endemol wishes that more like.

4) BB will return to summer next year. But, I agree, cramming all the series in at the end of the year is a bad idea.

5) The media have been pretty oblivious to the show since BB8. And it's only gotten worse to the point where even the Daily Star and The Sun barely mentioned it last year.

And the general public don't really care anymore.

Big Brother has now cut down to its very core audience (3-4 million) and will probably drop down to channel 5's highest audiences (1-2 million).

Even the biggest BB fans won't be able to stomach 4 series within 12 months.

We'll be able to spot hardcore BB fans after next year on the street. Just look for a jaundiced looking person who hasn't seen daylight for a year.

Both tbh. I want to see what the house, eye, format, celebs, tasks, twists and everything is like for CBB and then compare it to the regular one.

i just wish that they would use the whole house and garden this year coz compared to other world wide houses ours is the smallest i have seen except the serbain BB house. id like our house to be like BB australia in size.

keep our own ideas and house designers and not rip off other countries.

Im looking forward to both. But fundamentally the normal BB because i want to see the route endemol will have gone down in regards to housemate picking.

Agree with all of the above, but I don't agree with the comment about Jonas Altberg. Alex Reid was very well known at the time :)

But yeah I agree with most of what you say anyway :spin:

That's quite strange you've sene the regular one that long but avoided the Celeb ones. I'd recoomend them because CBB's evolved quite a lot over the years just like the reuglar version and CBB4 was considered some viewers' favourite series of any BB ever IIRC.

CBB1 - Can easily be watched within a day. Can't remember much about it but it's pretty much the same as BB1 but condensed in to a week and wasn't as lively.

CBB2 - Still glad I watched it but easily my least favourite CBB. Was just a bit boring.

CBB3 - FINALLY a celeb version that raised the stakes. Very similar to BB5 with the evil theme.

CBB4 - Like I said, probably the best CBB and some considered it the best series ever.

CBB5 - It just amazes me you didn't see this one. Wasn't the best but was the most publicised because of the race row.

CBB6 - An ok series, pretty much like BB9, you either love it or hate it.

CBB7 - A bit of a return to form with Shirley Jones returnign as exec producer. Completely moved away from the BB10 vibe before it and worked well with newer techniques which were adopted for BB11. I think it breathed a bit of life back in to the old dog

I disagree about your first part.

The first 2 CBBs might have been dull and boring and that's probably because it's a lot shorter than the regular one as well but CBB3 onwards I think have been great. It's always gonna be 'BB-lite' because of it's shorter run, less HMs and same house, winter setting etc but they still had amazing moments that kept us interested during winter.

Originally CBB1 was supposed to have 6 British celebs that were all recogniseable but people like Chris Evans and Dawn French I believe dropped out and so finding lesser known celebs actually worked in its favour as a 'social experiment'. Instead you had celebs from different backgrounds, some with bigger egos, some claiming to be better known than others - and that might be true but it also just depends on how long they've bene in the business and what sort of fans they appeal to. Even in CBB7 you still had HMs from all walks of life and fame like Jonas who younger viewers knew of but older ones less so, and Katia "Who? How is she famous?" Ivanova. CBB has more of a social range than the last few regular ones. CBB5 in particular I guess. More of a fame/class divide than a race one although it did have racist undertones.

I'm only 21 and I admit I'd heard of all 14 CBB5 HMs before they entered the house. Admittedly, I only knew of Shilpa because she was rumoured weeks before it began but all the other 13 I'd heard of, seen on TV or read about way before that. And I recognised all 11 CBB6 HMs.

I'm interested to see how C5 deal with a new CBB and think it'll rake in more viewers because of it being a celeb series but I do agree with the latter part of what you said about some sort of worry the logo and house will stay the same for CBB8/BB12/CBB9 or that the CBB finale will overshaddow the BB launch - unless there's some twist that'll link them together like BB11 did to UBB.

Ahh I must of been having a dumb moment, I forgot about CBB5! with Jade and Shilpa lol I did watch all of that one and bits of CBB3.
