Couldn't see it anywhere.

BIG Brother’s audition hotline has gone into meltdown.

Thousands of fans are so eager to be a housemate on Channel 5’s new show that they have caused the website
to crash.

TV bosses only launched the official contestant application site on Tuesday. But within 72 hours of going live, it has been overloaded.

More than 35,000 wannabes have now downloaded the application form.

And already 2,500 have rushed through their completed forms in a bid to land a prized place in the audition queue.
Channel 5 executives say they are “thrilled’’ with the response.

And BB7 winner Pete Bennett, 29, said: “This really bodes well for the new show. It sparkle and people still want to be a part of it. I hope the producers pick carefully.

“I want to see funny, silly people who’ll make me laugh. And some hot girls in bikinis would do nicely too.”

Fans aged 18 and over can apply for a place at the BB auditions this summer at bigbrotherauditions.com.

This will not be the only chance to get on the show as there will be open auditions.

And your Daily Star will be holding a special competition to win a Golden Ticket pass.

Channel 5’s director of programmes Jeff Ford said: “By inviting people to apply for the show online, we hope to assemble the most entertaining and captivating house yet.

“We are looking forward to seeing the full array of applications, either online or in person.”

2500? Lol, hardly epic. I remember one series Davina mentioned around 100,000 applicants had been to the open auditions.

Won't be too many "hot girls in bikinis" in October/November.

I was playing on the fact that some people seem to think everything written in there is untrue, but then again, i have my doubts myself over the numbers applying though.

Hope it IS true however, as it bodes well for the new series.

2,500 completed application forms, 35,000 applied a few days back, so more would have applied by now. The open auditions are still to come so I think we will reach 100,000 easy.

:joker:
They have never once released any statistics on how many people have applied, the only source is the Daily Star who are exagerating big time to prompt more publicity for the show, can't say I blame them, but anyone who believes them is laughable.

And the open auditions - you can only get invited to them if you apply online, so it isn't as if:

'Oh the Daily Star says 2 Thousand people applied over the internet last week, that must mean if 3 Thousand go to the open auditions, there'll be 5 altogether yay!'

If they like you online, they invite you to the open auditions, I can't see them taking any strangers of the street who just walk into some centre and decide to apply - they would of before lol obviously, but not this year.

They used to always mention the number of applicants on launch night.
Davina always had a line "From X amount of applicants to Big Brother's chosen 14" or whatever.

I distinctly remember a few years back Davina saying how many applied.
