If you guys think 30 is old, you're in for a shock when you reach it.

Yeah I agree! I'm over 30 and don't feel old at all! I do think a lot depends on the person though. For example, my mum is 65 but is quite a young looking, active trendy woman, whereas I see some women her age with grey hair, wering twin sets and beige skirts.:nono:

When I said 33+ I meant to me that seems the age where maturity changes not like old like an old man/woman. For example a 29 year old would in my eyes still be considered young and living it up in their twenties and when they got past 33 it would be like they are officially grown up.
When I get to thirty i'm sure ill still feel I'm young but i think thats an emotional change in ones life.
An old man/woman in my eyes is like 60.

About 60+
Depends on the person though. Gavs dad is 61, but looks mid forties, and acts younger. On the other hand one of his dads mates is the same age as him, and I swear he looks about 80

I don't think of anyones age, being a Student, I have student friends of 20+ who are more like 70 year olds in their moaning and groanings,I have people in my family Uncles ,Aunts and Cousins who are in the 50s and 60s and are more like us teenagers.(me being just a teenager as 20 looms next year).
I would set over 60 as the start of being old but age is in the mind I think, if people keep thinking young age is irrelevant.

Depends on the person really. Someone could be 60 and not look it at all. About 60+ I suppose.
wtf @ some people saying 30 and 40!

Me too, I am 20 next year and would hate to be thought of as old just 10 years after that.
When you reach 30 that's it then you may as well start saving up for your funeral.

Over 60 I would consider old. When you're ready for retirement.
45ish to 60 middle aged.
And anyone up to the age of 40 is young.

I would say about 60+ is old, but I also agree with the people that said it depends on the person.

Yeah, it depends on the person.
Some people in their sixties are hunched over, zimmer frame and take forever to move around. Have several health problems etc.
Whereas there's others who are still as fit as they were and move around normally with no trouble (or need for a hip replacement). Like Helen Mirren, she's not your average 65 year old woman.

Life expectancy is too high now for it to be anything less.
However
past it = 25+

It'll be awful when I reach my thirtieth birthday, I was having existential thoughts from turning 20, nevermind 30
I think a lot of people confuse middle aged with being old. I'd say 65+ is old.

25 is the age at which the human body reaches its peak strength. There is no seriously steep decline until about the age of 35-40, but still... all downhill from there.
Sounds grim I know, but I'm 25 next month and have to get used to the idea.

So you have less than 10 years outside of school being "with it" and then have 40 years of being past it before you reach old age?

It makes me sick at work. There are young women in their 30s who I thought were in their teens or early 20's!
I hope I get better looking with age.

You have a biological age, a chronological age & a maturational age.
Your biological age - how old you look - is what matters. Some people look old at 30, others look young at 50.

The answer depends on what age you are. A 10 year old thinks 20 is like prehistoric.
