so I was in Hollisters today...
firstly, why is it so bloody dark? and cluttered? I really don't need to be rubbing up against strangers when Im innocently shopping. But what really surprised me was how loud the music was! Geez. I mean, I love music in shops(I often whip my mobile out and text down the lyrics of a song if I like it..then google them to find out what the song is called) but I literally could not hear a word the assistant was saying! which strikes me as a ridiculous way to run a business.
apparently theyre not allowed to have music playing over 90 decibels and are legally obliged to offer their staff earplugs if its above that. Which it definitely was!
do you like loud music in shops or does it put you off shopping there?

It smells so nice in there, and when you buy the clothes they smell of the shop
also i noticed that shops play good music but its not stuff I would listen to at home. it just seems good for shopping and being out

The more a shop makes me feel like I'm in a gay nightclub, the better.

I don't mind it so much if I am on my own in the shop/store but if I am with someone then it is very annoying when you have to shout to be heard.

This is the loudest shop in Cork. They blare enough Scooter and Tupac Shakur out the door to let everyone within a ten mile radius know they are giving 25% discounts off lava lamps and Bob Marley posters.
It's lovely.

omfg I was wondering what Hollister was but i remember now
We went to one in the trafford center and it was just blaring out, I couldn't hear anything anyone was saying, it was stupidly dark and there was no air con, everyone was hot and sweaty.
I like loud music but not to that extent, it was stupid

I hate it!I like music in shops, but not ridiculously loud.
There's a dead chavvy shop in town that sells good shoes/trainers, but I can't go in because of their blaring, ****e techno music.
Apart from making me feel completely stressed out, it used to be impossible to take the pram in when kids were babies as they'd wake up screaming! :bored:
