View Full Version : Hotmail
Has anybody here had their hotmail account hacked before? Not by somebody else just pissing about, I mean when it comes up with 'suspicious activity' and spammers have hacked it to send out spam from your account?
It's never happened to me before when I tried signing on a while ago, it said I'd been blocked then directed me to the help page, told me to change my password which I did, and then it wouldn't let me log in because it was still blocked. I can't even make an account to ask on the forum thingy to get it sorted because it won't let me sign in, plus I've lost pretty much all of my contacts apart from about 5 because I have some random chat logs saved to my computer. :bawling:
On the plus side, I've always prefered using gmail for my e-mails but hotmail just seemed simpler for me to use for everything because I'd had that account for about 8 years, so I've just spent about an hour changing my email on absolutely everything I use to gmail. :joker:
So yeah, has anybody successfully got their account back before? I'm not too bothered about it, it's just if something important was e-mailed to that one from somewhere I forgot I put that e-mail down, I'd be ****ed.

I've had my hotmail address for around 12 years and have never had any problems like that with it :/ There is surely someone you can contact about it?

If you go to the log in page and under the log in bit at the bottom right hand side you can click help centre and there is an option for "My account is blocked"

Tried that, but whatever I click on there it takes me to the "Your Account is blocked" screen and telling me to click other things, which just take me to the same thing, the only solution I've seen so far is posting on their solution centre and waiting for some admin type person to sort it out, but you need to create an account for that, and to do that, you need to sign into your hotmail, so it's just going round in circles lol. Yeah :/ it's just annoying because I've had that account so long, and anything I've ever had to sign up for I've used that e-mail for, so I'm just worried that I'll like get information about a job or something that I'll miss because I can't see my e-mails in that account.. ah well, changed practically everything I use frequently now anyway so hopefully gmail doesn't mess up too. :bawling:

You could always set up a new hotmail to try and get your old one back, then just deactivate it after?

No, I lied.
Can you change your password with your other info like a secret question or that?

I do, I've had that address for over 11 years now:joker:

Yeah I've changed the password several times but when I go to sign in, it just comes up with the whole blocked malarkey again, but I've made a new account and sent a request for that one to be unblocked and they said it should take 24 hours

If spam is getting sent from your address you may have a virus.

I use my Hotmail account [like email] for Websites and that LOL.
But I never actually use it - use it, anymore.
Unless I'm emailing companies pretending to be some obsessed fan so they send me 2 Pound of voucher for my next tub of Pringles.
Yeah I had pretty much everything I signed up for as my Hotmail account so was pretty pissed off when it wouldn't work, so I'm just hoping gmail will be more secure.

I don't use mine for anything to do with finances or anything personal so they can hack away for all I care. The amount of spam it gets its ridic. But at least it does actually go straight to junk where it belongs. As if I need viagra..
