Today our school found out that one of out teachers had passed away, (he was actually one of the favourite teachers, like seriously everyone loved him, i don't think you could have said a bad word about him). I posted about how we were told yesterday that he was in critical condition in hospital, and how there was a really horrible rumour going around about what happened. Turns out it was true, and that he tried to kill himself. I knew he was suffering from depression but I didn't think it was that bad. I can't stop thinking about his family, he just had a baby not too long ago. We were told that his family were there as he passed away. I think he must have been on life support and then they decided to take him off. Which I suppose is the best thing as he was suffering.
I just can't believe it. The atmosphere in school was something i've never experienced, and I hope that i never do again. It was horrible.
Sorry for ranting but I feel like I need to get it off my chest.

me too, and I feel bad for all the other teachers in school too. Most of them were crying. They know alot more than us, so I think what happened is worse than we thought.

I suppose they were close friends with this guy. Not the easiest of news to deal with especially whilst at work.

Yeah he was the type of person that everyone gets on with, thats why its so sad.
I'm really sorry for your loss Caitlin :( but at least he must have been so loved by all to have had this effect on the whole school, even if he had his own problems that caused this to happen.

That's awful Caitlin, a similar thing happened when I was in school too. It's weird because you don't quite know how to act or how you feel and the atmosphere is terrible:hug:

i would post an article about it but I don't want people to find out where i go to school. But in the article it says that he was in a fire. He set himself on fire near the school, but he apparently used chemicals from the school. It was going around yesterday that, it was what happened, but I tried to think of it as a rumour.

Some people on facebook last night, honestly I have no words. I have never seen such disrespect in my life - it was more about who found out what first than what happened and respecting privacy.

My history teacher hung himself. He was marking my coursework at the time and I never got it back, I was so pissed.
Sorry to hear about that, this is awful :(
I remember one of the teachers in my school died when we were in year 7/8 I think and the atmosphere was very strange, but none of me or my friends had ever been taught by him so it wasn't as sad for us as it was for others.

I didn't think something like this could affect a school so much. Its like our own community or something. then again, I never imagined anything like this to happen

Yeah, you'll get over it, you'll definitely always remember it but less often and without getting too upset. I know it's a bit of a cliché but it is true that time heals all wounds

Not nice at all. I guess it's good his family was with him when he died though, not like left alone for days. Hope you feel better soon
This is so sad, I'm very sorry for how you're feeling. I work in a school and I know what a close 'family' we are there so I can imagine how devastating this must be for everyone there
