My Chemical Romance's Gerard Way has said the band let their single 'Sing' be featured on Glee in order to "do some damage" to the world of pop music.

Speaking to the News Of The World, Way also said the band had deliberately penned pop songs for their album 'Danger Days: The True Lives Of The Fabulous Killjoys' in order to be "subversive."

Asked why the band gave permission for 'Sing' to be featured on Glee, Way replied: "We wanted to get in that pop world and do some damage. 'Sing' is an anthem attacking corporate society, and there it is on Glee."

Way also addressed the criticism the band have received from US right-wing political pundit Glenn Beck, who had described 'Sing' as "propaganda." The singer said of Beck's comments, "He hit out at us, that's brilliant - the song is attacking who it's meant to attack. It's good to know a rock band can still have that impact."

The singer additionally said the New Jersey rockers had deliberately penned pop songs for their fourth album 'Danger Days: The True Lives Of The Fabulous Killjoys'. He said: "People have asked us why there are some pop songs on the new record and my response is: 'To be subversive'."

not for the money then.

Attacking the pop world? Lol.

If you don't like pop music, ignore it. And get over yourself.

Kind of hard to ignore it when it's shoved down your ******ing face by people like Chavs and GaGa 'Monsters'.
