Dom Joly has told Digital Spy that he suspects Channel 5 will ruin Big Brother.

The TV comic and I'm A Celeb contestant, who was a regular guest on Big Brother spinoff shows during the Channel 4 years, said that the new series would probably be just more "stupidity and breasts".

"I think [Big Brother] will be ruined by Channel 5 if I'm honest. I don't think it will be the same without Davina [McCall]. I think it will become a conveyor belt for OK magazine to produce instant freaks, put them in the mag and then churn them out," he said.

"I expect even more stupidity and breasts. I thought it had reached its maximum breast stupidity level and I did think the last series was the best ever, but... just leave it."

I had high hopes 5 might just shelve this for a season or two and return with something more sophisticated, purist and really aim for something like the original 'serious' social experiment.
It 'appears' (so far) this is going to be another freaks and breasts idiot 'Puerile Pool Party' shock show.

He's probably on to something, after all, C5 isn't known for its sophistication, and the Daily Star, let's not even go there, but it's really a matter of whether you find "dumbing down" dumb or exciting.

He's not ripping into it. I'd agree with him that Big Brother ended for a reason on C4. We had ten years of it and it was tired at the end.

Dom Joly is talking out of his arse. Big Brother was ruined on Channel 4. Especially from series 10 with a major stupid decision of cutting the 24 7 live feed.

I agree with him that we shouldn't just have stupid/big breasted people in there. Sure the odd one but we need fiery, intelligent, entertaining personalities!

Channel 5 won't ruin it. It's a fresh start whatever they do with it. Times have changed and the show has got to move on.

Apart from 3 things.. Marcus Bentley, the eye and hopefully the 24 7 live feed stay the same!! Woo. Especially the live feed......
